G2 truth

To be completely honest, I did not expect much of this roster on this major. They kind of positively surprised me against NaVi and Heroic by taking them to OT and the only real upset for me was the Imperial where they clearly lost their shit. IMO its the people's delusions that made this a huge upset, not the actual state of things. I will still give them time before I would call it a total failure. FaZe under karrigan started winning big shit one year after he joined, and needed +ropz to do so. And they had some unreal expectations during that year too, which did not get realized.

Well the thing is I tend to think with my own brain, not just copy paste the opinions of others. They did good run on Kato, but if you watched actively the games, you could see that there was still a lot to work on. many performances were shaky and relied very heavily in NiKo or hunter going god mode. I did not yet see any "whole" game plan wise for them before this major, so yes, it suprised me how well they did against NaVi and Heroic given that there was not consistent form or plan from the previous games before the major. Then again those were bo1's so mightve been a fluke also. but anyway ppl then just made huge narrative of a form and expectations that did not really match to reality I've witnessed regarding G2 current form

It's understandable.

G2 should sign BIG

This could actually work, but what good is switching the IGL when NiKo doesnt let him lead? The problem with G2 lies elsewhere but no one wants to admit it. Who would come after ALEX? Tabsen?

G2 current roster only operating since January, issues beyond their control in EPL but they still reached Katowice finals. At the moment they aren’t good enough and every knows that, but they will improve and I do believe they will win a T1 event this year. NaVi took 3 months with B1t to actually start winning stuff, G2 need time.

I think about 4 months (+ however many days they were prac before the announcement) is enough for an IGL to become accustomed to how their team plays and call accordingly. Aleksi was a certified downgrade.

NiKo literally doesn't let him call on CT sides. NiKo is the downgrade, not Aleksib

aleksib is way worse than nexa... must feel bad for niko who always miss the mark

Tbf to G2 the tactical element wasn't the problem in the major, the performances were. So the argument kinda fails there imo

For me it looked like they tried to follow a tactic but in very many cases they were very very hesitant or clueless on some of the executions so I think I'll still stand behind my argument.

They weren't clueless, just lacked confidence as you said. That lack of confidence came from the subpar individual performances as I stated before. When the performances are there, the players aren't afraid to do what they are told to do, and the tactics work at an expected rate.

> They weren't clueless In the Imperial game after art did that 3K with pistol on CT by sneaking to T base, I think after that G2 was generally clueless, and maybe a bit tilted. After that Jackz hold 50 seconds B ramp for CT push and spammed Q and guess what, when CT pushed, when he was on q animation and died. Similar things I observed in some other games too. I think in these things might intervene quite a lot, even though you have a overall plan, you might be clueless or insecure about the actual execution of it and get nervous and unconfident.

Only game where they were somewhat clueless was in CT side Vertigo Vs fúria. Imperial was more of a tilt.

G2 needs time. They showed great promess, the only issue could be the lead of Aleksib to slow for the stars but wait and see, they have a good coach. I think they can be really great soon

They wont be given much more time by Carlos, I think they will bench 1 or 2 players after cologne if they don't get the results or at the very least contend for the trophy and in no way they should go out in group stages
