Ok, ESL Rio Major is pretty much confirmed. But, they HAVE to make more tickets available. In 2019 18k tickets sold out in an hour.
They have the chance to make the biggest major ever, even in Macaranã with 70k peole (sold out anyway), but if they produce a mediocre event for only 18k people, they will be stupid and will not take advantage of the full potential of the Brazilian public

In Europe ok, here we could full the entire Maracanã (70k)
But the potential is way bigger. They can easily make an event with more than 30k people.

yeah but to setup the LAN inside a football stadium requires a shit ton of work, but the money it requires should be repaid from ticket sales tbh... like LoL can sell out stadiums in korea...

I dont think it would be a problem to pay for the stadium.
The biggest problem is making the CS event inside the football stadium. It's not like spodek or lanxess or venues like that where the place is meant for those kind of events. Football stadium is literally on another level when it comes to all the set up they would need to do in order to change a court into arena for players.
Also the arena would have to be big enough so not something to cover like 20% of the place and everything around is empty

dude, they set up shows like Coldplay, U2, etc etc etc in Maracanã. The setup to host CSGO major would be "easy". It would be different, but would be easier than for big shows.
They can build the stage in 1/4 of the stadium, with backstage, etc. 3/4 as bleachers. It would be fucking epic 80k people watching csgo in Maracanã

The stadium itself has a huge screen with four sides that you can see from all sides and all parts of the stadium. And ofc they would build a big screen

i once watched over the tech-equiment listed etc. forgto to look for cloth etc.
but when i see that analyst switch there jackests and wachtes between them and the same jackest the last few years i wonder if this company is broke or just extremely cheap.
