Yeah, or maybe I'm just not used to the 1.6 movement and gun mechanics
Biggest factor is probably the movement acceleration. In csgo you're almost instantly at full speed when you move, but in 1.6 it was much slower to get going.
For example in some of the awp peeks around corner he had to go speed up from further away from the corner to have full speed when peeking.
1. because it's an old game, and has slightly different mechanics
2. because it's not a 1st person demo, which makes it looks much much worse

since 2005-2006 there were great peripherals. great mouses keyboards and headsets. not better than now obviously (debatable in terms of quality). but laser mouse really? what the fuck r u on about. why do people like to talk bout something they DONT KNOW. laser mouse with acceleration lmao what the fuck
not really the case in pro level, people were playing really early with msie 3.0 or 1.1 SE mice (400dpi, good enough sensor) with func pads, icemats, qpads and steelpad 4D etc. this was back in '01-03
I agree with #6 on points 2. and 3. 100%, it was really different to view a first person recorded demo than HLTV recorded demos

because you're wrong, I do use siberia v2 and mx518, and regardless of these 2 there were already plenty of other good peripherals, so maybe next time try a better argument.

try a better argument because some boomer at lvl 7 doesnt notice the difference between mice. there are several versions of m518 too man..
i could tell the difference between my steelseries sensei raw and the deathadder chroma which had a different sensor type at the same settings. its an upgrade, and there are plenty of different things a better mouse gives you. weight, shape, sensor reading/tracking/responsiveness... you are arguing that 20 year old peripherals are just as good as today. what the hell?????????????

I disagree. as late as 2016 there were mice with sensors that were clearly better than others, like optical vs laser because of acceleration that were worse in some sensors.
i think theres a clear reason zowie now has gone from ec2 white, ec2 red, ec2A, ec2b and now ec2c. mice like the intellimouse has came out with better sensors and so has the mx518 several times.
i think the progress is not as clear as many think, no one cares if a mouse has 30 0000 dpi compared to 3000, and some prefer heavier mice, but buttons, sensor accuracy, mousefeet, more accurate polling rate, better accuracy at higher dpi, software customization, input lag... its nothing you will notice at a more casual level every day. would you notice the difference between something like the yellow zowie fk1 and the fk1c? ofcourse, and you would say the fk1c is the better mouse.

Pretty much every pro used 400 dpi in 1.6 anyway, and I think most pros today still stick to lower DPIs.
Polling rate was 500/1000 back then too, which is pretty much the same in mouse still today.
There was definitely some laser mice with pretty shoddy accuracy, but I think the staple mice from steelseries/zowie/logitech were usually decent enough.
Not sure if input delays have made any super gains over the years either.
I think most pros could use a zowie ec2 and do pretty well
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the new mice aren't overall better, especially now that optical mice have pretty much destroyed laser, but I don't really think "pros were playing on trackball mice" is entirely accurate.

Im talking about peripherals being shoddy 20+ years ago compared to what has come later. Trackballs were used in 2002 for fps, i cant point to pros but i have seen forums talking about it
Also there is a website to see how your polling rate is doing. Newer sensors are better at maintaining 1000 polling rate.

Also, if you have a mouse with built in acceleration, on 100hz 4:3 monitors, with a worse computer, that they would not be out aimed by someone with the newedt mouse, 240hz monitor and a rig that maintains 400fps at all times? Dude…

Nah im not saying that im saying mouse hardware does make a difference. But the person who wields it is still more important then the hardware. The hardware is only so good as its master who is wielding it if you get what I mean.
4:3 or whatever ratio doesnt matter much the default_fov value being set does matter for field of view. An old 100hz crt screen finnally gets some competition again with the new 240hz screens after a decade or two of slow monitor technology. ( tft was healthier specially designed for office workers back then)
Ingame fps matters for the ingame engine. Old games eventually got run on 300 fps as well long before csgo was able too. Its relative.
Your perception is that anything newer is better and the old days must of been shit when its not that black and white. Games have an age that preformance becomes relative quicker the you think. Monitor technolgy.
Sound was better back then for info.(note not the quality of .wav files) Mouses are better now but when the steps were made towards the razer copperhead era it where just gradual steps higher after that no more great leaps. Ofcourse the stats show it differently ofcourse and there is some truth to that but the actual step you are making preformance wise by going one or two models up is more for selling purposes.
A third model up becomes interesting again.

Nope to you its the mouse first then the person. To me its vise versa. And if we are talking hardware about that day and age I just gave you two or three other hardware aspects more important then the mouse.
I was critizing the amount of emphasize you where putting on mouse hardware.
I get it though i bought the stuff too was very into the technical side of things to get an equal playing field and was proud of my equipment but we dont agree perhaps in time we will :)
If any the four most important things when it comes to equipment was this.
1. Crt screen over tft (crt waY faster technology. With the same ping and same sound position info as your opponent you could react faster and shoot first with crt.
2. Being able to get high stable fps. It was an armsrace back then to go to 60fps to stable 100fps and so on.
3. Mouse my razer copperhead didnt feel surpassed with much significance untill the 2015 models came out. In between i had bought newer razer models who preformed worse.
4. Sound hardware able to produce a3d or eax sound. Specially a3d could make you hear further away getting info earlier then your opponent with skill it was like wh.

LMAO how old are you? There is absolutely no difference playing with current mouse/keyboard/headset compared to 2010 ones, the technology evolves but the performance is already maxed since many many years. A mx518 is as good as any brand new mouse they release this year, the tracking was perfect already in those times.

Gun is not that accurate compared to csgo at least for a couple of guns, max fps is 100 anymore of that would crash the game, recoil is harder in 1.6 imo
Mechanical skills are by far higher now than back then so even your average global elite probably looks more "professional" than 1.6 pros. Youre just used to watching high mech skills thats all.

different games = different mechanics u need. in 1.6 it was all bout movement and tapping. in csgo mastering spray. and movement is not the same. so tell me how tf 1.6 pros can be compared to csgo pros in terms of mechanics when both GAMES R JUST DIFFERENT M E C H A N I C A L L Y.
Because of the direct weapon switch binds cutting off the draw animations.
Because the game was raw and perhaps a bit buggy.
Because of scripts and edited sprites and models with own files.
Because the weapon recoil was different a lot easier to control
Specially the awp was just almost pinpoint direct shooting.
The demo playback was also crap specially hltv recorded demos would delete a lot pov screen information.
Likely because demo viewing experience is bad in 1.6. That is why movement feels awkward to look at and so does shooting sometimes.
In CSGO you can adjust the demo commands to be nearly exact as POV but that wasn't quite the case with 1.6. Also as far as 1.6 movement goes, check out NEO.

TBF HLTV nuked POV demos so blame it on them and GOTFRAG. MC_T(video creator) has the largest collection of demos to this day. Should bethankful to him mens )

Yeah gtr and forp(he still is, just a generational talent, unfortunately left nip to play with friends...) were great at the start but the competition was very weak
