True, it's the tier 2-3 tournaments matchfixing

No. Sponsors, salary and mainly stickers is what matters in CS. Prize money is nice but that's not where majority of their income come from as many on HLTV belives for some reason

The teams outside of that play lower tier tournaments and receive smaller prizepools, it's the exact same argument

In current ınflatıon ın Turkey, players get 4.5 times compared to 2016. 2016, 1 dolar was 3.5 Turkish Liras. Now 16.12 Turkish Liras.

the teams and players get 50% off the capsule where the stickers are sold not from the stickers themselves, and depending on the contract the players have with their orgs, the orgs can either take the whole thing or give/take a percentage of the money they make

I'm aware, so what? Doesn't change the fact that it's a massive pile of money going to teams and players, and that second part I find highly unlikely, would like for you to give an example where an org takes the entire money of the player sticker capsules.

That's a legal dispute based on a very specific situation, their contract literally states that players get 100% of their sticker capsule and 83% of the team's sticker capsules. This is not a normal situation and shouldn't be argued as such

Except for the massive income that players and teams receive from sticker money

Now compare it with TI dota hype, "40m" sounds way better than "1m + some abstract amount of money from stickers" assuming even half of casual csgo viewership knows about sticker money.

Why would I compare it with TI when you just compared it to other cs tournaments and I have shown you that there is a large difference between them
2022-05-25 12:40
The real thing is that the "abstract amount of money" is similar to those 40M and it's twice a year. It looks less convincing for outsiders, but for teams/players it's the same, or better, because even if you lose 0-3, you get a decent amount of money. Around 1M for teams + 150-250k per player that you'll get no matter what you do (legends get a bit more than challengers obv)
2022-05-25 13:50
TI winners spirit came back home as national heroes doing TV interviews and stuff, major winners Navi came back home same as they won some another csgo tournament nobody cares apart from cs fans

the international is once per year and is funded mostly by fans. You buy a pass and other shit in the pass = 40% (or something like dat) goes to the main prize pool - rest goes to volvo) Outstanding bussines plan. Of course it makes other tournaments pointless. Who car to prepare for 500k tournament if you can train for 1 year and win 40 mil :D

they get much more from the stickers but i also think it should be 2m so it isn't too much but still more than any other event
2022-05-24 20:43
The real prize money is from the sticker capsules.

This, tired of explain the same to hltv mens. Instead of top teams keep getting huge moneys for winning and the rest having negative income, all the teams and players have the opportunity to get a decent amount of money which help lower teams.
