it's the inverse for me. I listen to a lot of experimental rock and none of those sounds could be replicated on an acoustic. saving up to get myself an electric!

I feel you on that. I listen to different types of rock than acoustic music, so it's nice to be using electric. But just to have an acoustic around is convenient too. When you get that electric, blow the roof off your house 😎

i had 4 different guitars and learned an entirety of one riff had a lot more fun taking them apart and doing maintenance stuff than actually playing for some reason

Lol. i like to experiment/replace the vacuum tubes/speaker/etc occasionally on my tube combo amp, and i do the pickup soldering on my electric guitar myself. it is fun, isn't it? just recently adjusted the truss rod and bridge height/string height to get more playability out of it as well.i do love playing it, though.

guitar (6 string electric, 6 & 12 string acoustic), mandolin, bass sometimes keys but im not proficient at them at all thats a pretty tele tbh, i love the red burst with the tortoise shell pickguard. must sound fuckin awesome too

Very nice variety, I would love to get a 12 string to tamper with. The tele has served great for 5-6 years but it was $250 so not really something I want to main with.

12 strings are great to mess around w/ and come up with neat little melodies, the octave strings (& the double high E) are really beautiful sounding to me -- they kind of sound like you have a chorus pedal going thru your signal lol. tbh squier guitars at that price range are severely undervalued, especially if youre just messing around w/ it at home or reserving it as a backup

This is the song that got me on to the sound of a 12 string - youtube.com/watch?v=fu7vlU0Quow I actually like squier, but I plan to get a tele with humbuckers instead

Ahh unlucky. Playing drums is really fun! If you ever get a chance I strongly recommend you to try them. Btw what kind of stuff so you play on the bass? I personally really like slapping and have been trying to learn double thumbing as well but so far there hasn't been much progress because it's so hard. Though most of the time I play with my friends and we usually just try to make our own songs and I don't slap too much with them because it doesn't really fit our stuff (and I suck at coming up with slap basslines :P)

I went to church with my parents when I was little and every now and then I got my hand at trying them, and I craved it ever since. Maybe I can get an electric kit. Because I main guitar, I don't try the difficult stuff on bass, but I play a lot of bass from People In The Box. Very interesting J-rock, mixed with some jazzy chords and really nice tones

I see. If you end up getting an e-kit then make sure you try different types before you buy one (you can most likely test them at any music store) because from experience I can tell you that some of them can feel pretty awkward to play and have very small possibilities for adjustment even if they aren't too cheap. Ofcourse you can get used to them but still. Never heard of People In The Box before but I listened to a couple of their songs and they're not really my type of music but they were not bad by any means.

it was nice at first but the plastic is louder than the sound effects the hi-hat won't open (it doesn't physically open the open sound effect just doesn't trigger) the hi-hat makes a really annoying creak and the bass drum pedal moves alarmingly quickly and sometimes the snare just falls off. obviously i am grateful for it and would rather have it than not, but i desperately need to get a new one

I play drums (for like 16 years now, started with classical music and started become a drummer at ~16 i think) , bass (started a few years ago because it was a child dream of mine and it really helps with your drumming, music theory etc.) and piano (self taught, also started playing a few years ago. Started because its such a great instrument with so many opportunities and you can sound so good while playing alone and it also really helps with music theory). I played in orchestras since i was little and in bands for a few years now :). Music >>> Edit: I actually forgot that i played the trumpet for a few years

You can also try to write a song... Or at least write down chord progressions you like:)

I love making new chord progressions, especially when I have my guitar pedals to enhance the sound even more

Mh thats enough for a 4 chord song tho, right? I mean as long as you dont want it to be real slow:)

Medium-fast/fast tempo is great, but when I make chord progressions, I don't stay with 3 or 4 chords for a whole piece, I like to experiment with different scales, and modulate/change keys mid way through, so 12 seconds is not enough for that :p

its not perfect but you can just loop in a new one :) but ofc it limits your options

I've played piano for 20+ years and am self-taught on guitar (~10yrs or so). Dabbled a little with violin, but wasn't for me

some types of percussion and violin could mix well together, but takes time to find the pair that works

no one is too dumb for music, but you have to do some looking to find what interests you

Classic Black/white tele, the kind you put all the stickers you can on it. I love this one too

Guitar or piano with singing itself is very nice, especially if you are playing for someone special
2022-05-26 21:36

guitar (6, 7, 8, and 9, string), occasionally dabble in bass, and i can scream. i have a good singing range but a painfully aweful singing voice.

I have no singing voice :)

Lol, I like to do growls like old Opeth style. never really tried screaming. my singing voice is like..baritone i think, so i can't sing most pop songs unless i do falsetto for half of it, lol :(
