actually the guys who teach me stuff in cs say that playing in a laptop is a disadvantage and asus has one of the worst response times for a gaming laptop ! when i came to my town after playing in cafes for weeks i struggled to adjust , now i am ok ! But still struggling to win in gn4 bcoz of low elo players and me losing my shit ....

They are the same eDPI in this case, but the processing is different. The higher the DPI resolution is, the better the tracking. It's important for people who like higher sens' because on lower dpi, your crosshair/cursor is prone to skipping

there is no relation between dpi and input lag. Polling rate ~1000hz is what gives you lower input lag
2022-06-20 17:35
It has impact, but that impact could even be negative on his playstyle, sens, etc. Truth is high dpi is not about "input lag", it's a misconception, it's about smaller increments between every spot the cursor moves when going from point A to point B.

Whatever feels most comfortable, try out 800dpi too
2022-06-25 04:26
800 dpi 1.21 in game. Too much DPI makes no sense, you can make it slightly smoother with 1600 dpi as compared to 800 but above that it's diminishing return. Because game determines where you moved it from the amount of available information about your movement. 400 dpi gives less information than 800 dpi, but because resolution is up to 1920x1080 - going crazy with dpi is just diminishing returns. Cause with 400dpi x 2sens as compared to 800dpi x 1sens there can be a question for the game which of the 2 pixels have you really wanted to aim at and game just kinda has to assume. For 800 that's not the case cause 1:1 it has enough info. BUT 1600 dpi x 0.5 makes it more accurate cause then game has twice as much information for each pixel you wanted to move - making that decision from the game much more accurate representation of your movement. Going 8000 dpi with 0.1 sens does not add much accuracy cause you have 10x more information than needed. That's "too much" information statistically. For statistical corrections (what makes movement smoother with high DPI) all it takes is 1 information too many and it can correct it self to a degree of accuracy. Adding one more extra information does improve accuracy but we are talking 2-3 numbers behind the decimal point in terms of the outcome. 10x more information is just adding some small number that's like 10-th decimal. Reason I run 800 dpi and 1.21 and technically have insufficient information for each pixel I wanted to move is because I am lazy to change that and some other games I play don't like me using DPi over 800. If you want smooth movement that detects all you do put your DPi to be higher than your EDPi - aka make DPi in such way that your in game sens is lower than 1. Reason pros use 400 dpi x 2 sens or so is because insufficient information cancels out aiming oddities - aka you can swing 180 to one side and stay on the head level even if your hand did not execute it perfectly - it's that one pixel of doubt that you have when your in game sens is 2. You can move your mouse for what would be one pixel down or up - your crosshair won't move.

That video is more clickbait than actually useful, when you take into consideration that the input lag he mentions is from one extreme to another, being 100dpi to 3200dpi. So no, you will not get 50% less input lag by increasing your dpi. Nobody actually plays under 400dpi and the input lag difference from 400-1600 is basically negligible in-game, while the benefits from 1600dpi to 3200 are minuscule, compared to the cons.
2022-06-20 17:55

And what are the cons playing with 1600 to 3200 DPI?

I meant the jump from 1600 to 3200 dpi, which has very little benefits that are shown in the video. 1600dpi is fine and the best option if you care about having less input lag, though it's not noticeable at all. While it doesn't affect CSGO, many games don't have good mouse sensitivity settings, so the higher the dpi, the harder it is to fine to it. Then you also have the desktop sensitivity that will become an issue for people used with lower dpi, even if you lower the slider at 3200. Honestly, I don't see a reason to go past 1600 dpi. I use it and I have to keep the win setting at 3, to keep the same feel I had at 400dpi 6/11 on windows. Then I have to have custom profiles for different games, because they have bad mouse settings, so most of the time I have to lower the dpi anyway.
2022-06-20 19:43

Extreme levels of DPI would only make sense for machine-precision stuff. CSGO is already a "pixel precise game" and DPI only marginally makes a difference.

I agree. Anything between 400-1600 is the sweet spot for CSGO and I'd say, good enough for most games. I do think 800-1600 is better for 1080p+ though.

600 dpi 1 sens GOAT
2022-06-24 20:31
It is true that the higher the dpi the less input delay (proof: youtube.com/watch?v=imYBTj2RXFs ) i just cant use higher dpi than 400 for desktop

DPI has similar effects of FPS, you raise it and it feels smoother , because of more precise mapping of the movements. However, barely makes a difference IMO. It only feels, but won't change your aim, only how nice or bad it feels for you.

I don't think DPI can ever be "bad" unless you are at extreme levels pixel skipping. However you need high DPI to play woxic sens.

Good to know you play a mice from the 90s if you feel a difference between 400 and 800

something is wrong if you can't tell a difference, 400dpi is more sluggish than 800dpi/1600dpi on similar sensitivities.

there literally is a difference, it's like saying you can't notice the difference between 144hz and 240hz when it comes to monitors. it's subtle, but it's there. it's not about what floats my boat, you're simply denying facts. take care now (and try out 800dpi/1600dpi for a few days).

Copium
2022-06-25 10:37
in fact higher dpi than 400 have lower input lag in the sensor so it's more responsive, the optimal is 1600, higher than that you have diminishing returns, 800 it's ok awell youtube.com/watch?v=6AoRfv9W110 imgur.com/CoPeaR3
