lose top 1 = lose era?

Is it like this, FaZe lose era if they lose top 1 in ranking after Cologne ?

I mean you don't know what will happen in the future for faze, so... not that I'm very hopeful for an era.

how many grand slams sk have ?
2022-06-26 14:16

Winning 2 majors is more impressive then a grand slam. Only few handful teams had 2 majors. You can also argue only few teams had grandslam but a team like Liquid has a grandslam. Makes it less impressive in that regard

1 major + 1 grand slam > 2 majors > 1 grand slam
2022-06-26 14:19

No. Majors are the pinnacle of competition so winning 2 of them is the most impressive feat. In getting a grand slam you can win less prestigous and less competitive tournaments
2022-06-26 14:21
4 replies
cologne and katowice are just as or even more competitive than majors since cologone and katwoice literally have all the top 16 teams in there, majors have also those top 20-50 teams cuz of the region shits
2022-06-26 14:37
3 replies
Still not in the same pedigree as a major. Everyone is extra motivated to win one. Thats why its a seperate category. Theres no "how many katowice competitions did you won" its "how many majors you won"
2022-06-26 14:47
2 replies
cologne is literally also called the unofficial third major of the year, same could be said of katowice

"Unofficial" yes not official. Still different not matter how many times you wanna look at it

Take off your glasses man and think about it Heeelll nah
2022-06-26 14:33
but during NAVI's time there was just one major now NAVI still can win another major if NAVI would win Cologne and Major I would say its still their era same as Liquid won everything and after that Astralis started winning again and it counted still as one era saying that if Liquid won grandslam then its less impressive? Liquid was actually during those events that they won one of the most dominant I would say
2022-06-26 14:24
4 replies
Liquid at the time won a grand slame because astralis wasnt in their path. Thats it. It makes it less impressive when the most dominant team at that time didnt get to play at most tournaments + every team there is at a weak state
2022-06-26 14:48
3 replies
You mean Astralis didnt get to play at most tournaments? Just because they decided not to play big tournaments it doesnt mean they didnt GET TO PLAY them. Anyway at during that little Liquid time they managed to beat even Astralis
2022-06-26 15:29

Astralis was their kryptonite. You seriously believe Liquid was the better team when they won the grand slam? "Just because they decided not to play big tournaments it doesnt mean they didnt GET TO PLAY them." Uh yea? Im not sure what point you are trying to send here
2022-06-27 03:21
1 reply
I am trying to say that its not like Astralis werent invited to those big tournaments. They just decided to skip them. And apparently they had reason because they didnt want to be "burnt out" so I think they still would lose to Liquid they just decided to skip IEM, DH Masters and tournaments like that to participate in Blasts or ECS Astralis was kryptonite thats true and even in 2019 it was like 8:3 in they face to face matches BUT all of Astralis wins ALL OF THEM came after player break so saying Liquid won grand slam just because Astralis just decided to skip BIG tournaments in time they were losing to Liquid as well is bull...

What about time between StarLadder Berlin 2019 and PGL 2021? Navi doesnt have same chances as other teams with "era" who played 2-3 majors per year and have so many attemps.
2022-06-26 21:24
6 replies
Like i said, antwerp and pgl only 4-5 months apart. Besides theres not much change compared to previous years. Every year theres at least 1 with a maximum 2. Navi are also always contending so they can win way before this which they didnt
2022-06-27 03:22
5 replies
There have been no majors for 2 years wtf are you talking about? Navi played 2 majors in 3 years, astralis and sk played 6 majors in 3 years. Fnatic played 6 majors in 2 years.
2022-06-27 03:29

Im excluding covid era obviously and im pointing years before that. My point is simply this, Navi had their chances to win back to back majors and they blew it. Therefore they didnt establish an era compared to other teams who won it back to back. Its not really that hard to understand
2022-06-27 03:32
3 replies
You excluding logic. When you play more majors you have more chances to win. Navi in their prime is unluckiest team in history of cs, world problems have influenced their legacy more than any other team.

the war is a valid excuse however thats part of reality. That doesnt mean we cater to their problems and pretend they have a legit era where the requirements still werent met. We can sympathize, but we cant give them exclusivity treatment. Would be unfair for the others
2022-06-27 04:57
1 reply
Show me official legit requirements for an era, modern kids are extreme maximalists, they want team to win all tournaments without losing a round for 5 years, and its going crazier every year, like cs go community rn is definition of delusion. You probably new to cs but most dominant team Astralis were eliminated from tournamens 8 times in 2018 their most dominant year.

i mean from starladder RMR they were kinda dominant ... lost to BIG in EPL groups and liquid to blast world final

"No?? They never stomped as hard as NiP and Astralis did. They were losing to Gambit 50/50 and had loses to Vita and G2. The only team they did stomp consistently was Heroic." NaVi's record on LAN in 2021 was 40-9 (Win / Loss map count). The only series they lost was to Liquid in their opening series at Blast World Finals (NaVi lost 1-2 and later went on to 2-0 them in the knockout stage rematch). July 2021: Won IEM Cologne (11-3 map count, 5-0 in semis + finals) October / November 2021: Won Stockholm Major (10-0 map count including wins over the #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #12 ranked teams. The #12 team - VP - moved up to #7 after the event) November 2021: Won Blast Fall Final (8-2 map count) December 2021: Won Blast World Final (11-4 map count) I'm not here to try and argue whether or not NaVi had an era. However, it's pretty delusional to try and say "They were losing to Gambit 50/50 and had loses to Vita and G2. The only team they did stomp consistently was Heroic." when the reality is that NaVi pretty much dismantled everyone on LAN in 2021.
2022-06-26 22:58
