OG team will never succeed until they're not willing to buy players.

Let's be clear from the start - I don't hate my team and I'm not a fluke fan. I cheer from them from my heart and really wish them the best. But it's a time to speak the truth. Results of OG will NEVER change until they're willing to spend money on top 20 players. There's 0 succesfull teams that had no top 20 player in their roster. Even teams like North, when they had good runs/year, had in their team atleast a one top 20 player (valde, for example). F1KU, mantuu, flameZ and NEOFRAG are not bad players. But that's their peak, just not bad. When OG had a top 20 player just for the one tournament (degster) they actually were doing very well. When I learned that jks or YEKINDAR will not join OG (and instead they signed another "not bad" players) I already had that thought in my mind. BLAST proved it once again and this tournament finally cemented this and basically confirmed it. Until org doesn't spend a big bunch of bucks on the roster nothing will change. And I don't expect to see the current OG on the major, as much I want it.

When mouz were a successful team they again had a top20 players in their team. oskar, suNny, ropz, w0xic, etc.....

none of those players were even top 100 before mouz picked them up

woxic was #2 AWP in the world in mid 2019? His only competition was dev1ce so in turns of pure speed/skill he was legit top 1 awper for a bit.

lmao playing 60 sensitivity, rushing with awp and randomly hitting enemies when they line up utility - very no.2 player yes

woxic beat everyone awper tier 1 in h2h stat besides for dev1ce so he is literally better than everyone besides dev1ce. And yes most awpers to this day awp faster than required for %90+ accuracy and rely on luck.

Yeah and now they have god Torzsi
2022-06-28 00:40
Yet this OG team is 2 weeks old and has accomplished more than MOUZ has in a year

MOUZ has a different kind of problem, dexter tactics doesn't work on the team tho. frozen > anyone from OG and so is torszi. Also OG got that accomplishment with degster as stand-in, a.k.a. one of the best AWPers right now

I agree Dexter should be the first to go but Dexter’s Nuke is amazing, stomping EF, NiP, and out-calling ENCE.
2022-06-28 06:30
I meant more like MOUZ doesn't spend top $ but still always had good rosters that were sometimes title contenders. OG on the other hand...

Ok, but this OG looks much more promising than any other iteration and they are really young. Fiku and Neofrag can definitely still develop into top 20 players with more tier 1 experience.

Literally the first and second iteration was top 6. Don’t let recensy bias fool you. They made decent runs and ended up losing to teams like navi, faze etc.

But in this teams second tournament together, they beat both NAVI and Ence, the second and third best teams in the world. Assuming that Fiku and Neofrag only get better, this team can definitely be good.

i like how you talked about every OG player except nexa, when nexa isn't giving the most impact for the team
2022-06-26 18:17

Nexa wont be a star player obviously (those times long gone) but he doesnt need to, he is just solid enough to not be an issue
2022-06-26 18:19
it's not about the IGL problem, it's fucking obvious. You could say that before they swapped Aleksib for nexa, but not now. OG has a completely new IGL with completely opposite style of playing, but still there are the same problems - choking, getting outaimed and outfired by every half-decent team, losing clutch situations with a big advantages.

im talking about the fact that you mentioned flamez and maybe mantuu and you didn't mention nexa, if you talk about OG's problems, it comes from all of them, but less from nexa/flamez i would say

If you guys go out and get a Frozen and a Degster you will be good team

The 4 players you named all have years left to grow, writing them off a month after making the roster is kinda kekw
2022-06-26 18:17
They can be successfull with better awper and some time. Neofrag can be really good, flamez is great, so if you add good awper, you have core that can make deep runs from time to time.
2022-06-26 18:18

NEOFRAG is inconsistent, flameZ was great at first, but then became inconsistent too, mantuu is still the best player in the team. And OG are already doing deep runs time by time

flameZ is super good player but OG arent giving him the space he needs
2022-06-28 00:28
The top 20 changes, maybe these young players can get there with tier 1 experience we'll see
2022-06-26 18:19
they can win Na'Vi, ENCE, Faze, just need more time. Can't do much when Faze suddenly after looking average activates some super powers and look like they see through walls with their perfect calls.

Degster buyout (from OverDrive's inside) is like 300K. I don't get how tf they don't have 300K for one of the best AWPers...... Even fucking ENCE and MOUZ spend more money on their CS:GO division. Like FFS.

Ikr? He has have such a low buyout, but even after that OG doesn't go for the deal. I can understand why they didn't go for YEKINDAR, he has a long-term contract, therefore high buyout, blah blah blah and shit, but when they doesn't even spend a money that even MOUZ would gladly give for such a player, it just shows that they don't give fuck about the team.

Ceb and NoTail mentioned before that OG will invest in CS:GO division just to keep it afloat .They absolutely have zero intention to grow a solid top10 team, but on the other hand , there is zero pressure on the roster, beggars can't be chosers. DotA is their bread and butter.

the gamblers call it a 'long shot'. they were close on Blast with six in a row before loss to Na'Vi with the smallest budget possible - compare that with G2 numbers and you get the picture. ...

They have young and promising players, they just need some time to get experience at t1, maybe in 6 - 12 months if nothing improves then it's good to invest in one top player

Then for what fucking purposes they created an academy team?

I just dont believe on this narrative. Fúria for example made their own top 20 players.

But as you can see, OG can't do that. They have a flameZ for like a year already and guess what? He's not a top 20 player.

+1 Every CIS team doesn't buy top 20 players.

I fully agree with you. Either buy and train rising talent like mouz, or pony up the money for top 20 players like all the other teams with a big budget. Right now they do neither. Their player's aren't prospects, they are just not bad / alright without a high cealing. You can't go deep by running a team like that.

Mate give them time, this iteration of the team in just a short amount of time looks very promising especially when u realize that since the addition of F1ku and Neofrag the team has only had a total of 20 Practice days counting travel days. So with the player break coming up and the team actually getting time to practice and work on their maps I wouldn't make any assumptions yet.

I would be very happy if I'm mistaken, but in my opinion nothing will change. I'm giving like 90% that this roster would be the same as the previous one.

OG are youngsters who are far from having hit their peak time and better strats is all they need, they have good individuals

OG will be top 5 in 2023. Mark my words.
2022-06-28 00:06
Give this roster some time, it looks promising. Although, i still don’t get why they benched valde. Imagine this lineup: Flamez Nexa Valde Yekindar/jks Degster

That's not the mentality behind the org tho, you can't expect them to go full faze clan, they'll keep doing it the same way they did so far also a lot of small regional teams have proven that you don't need to have a top 20 player to be good and put up a fight against top teams (tho it's obviously way harder)

2022-06-28 05:54
To be honest, I think the org knows that and is OK with it. It's part of the charm of OG, they don't try and buy success like teams like G2, it's just a team of people pulling together to try and make it work

Last 6 bo3's they played was vs top3 teams besides Entropiq. 3 wins, 3 losses, they played well even with mantuu, made faze run for their money. Imho, just mantuu do not fit fast playstyle, not because he's bad player but because he's slow. Degster is aggresive awper and his synergy with OG is amazing. Hope they wil buy him, 300k seem reasonable
