you dont need to see 10 moves in advance, just play every move safe and with brain and you will reach 900/1000 elo easy

cause you didn't spend 20 years practicing and reading books about it, apparently. I also lose a lot and I think the people I play against have some epic photographic memory, 0 blunders all clutch moves.

what helps me is to have more time, i play better when i have more time to think so it's very rare that I win a game of 5min or so, 10 minutes and more is okey

The problem with rapid and classical online is that there are too many cheaters

oh damn man, i feel bad for u :( you can always practice, although in games like chess some people just seem to be naturally gifted and if you aren't like 2k elo right away you just aren't meant to be good

its the king(guesssing ur not baiting). first learn the values of all the pieces. for example pawn =1, knight & bishop =3 etc. and trade pieces accordingly. then try to solve puzzles on lichess.com , it will help you.

why do the values matter if the goal is to kill the enemy king
2022-07-02 15:42

because it will be easier to kill enemy king with stronger pieces or more number of pieces

It's not all about being "smart" though. Pattern recognition regarding chess is definitelty something you can train and improve upon. Maybe OP should start doing some chess puzzles on chess.com. And maybe also learn some basic openings and stuff.

Mostly smart. No average person will ever be grandmaster at this game 100% all of the top level chess players are actually geniuses

I'm not really talking about becoming a grandmaster though, that's hardly the goal of OP, I'm talking about becoming decent. Regarding IQ, I remember Hikaru Nakamura doing Mensa Norway test on one of his streams and getting something close to average score, 102 or 103 if I recall correctly.

go for 30+0 and before making each move ask yourself "why am I doing this" then check better option with engine after game
2022-07-02 15:28
chess is hard but it's useful to know it at least to an extent as it helps your mind train to predict moves that are about to happen.
2022-07-02 15:28
watch chess videos and when you understand the game better learn a like 2 openings per color and you'll be 1000+ ez
2022-07-02 15:28
Are you playing without studying? If so you really need to, get some books or follow video to get better. You need to memorize first of all the basic, openings, pawn structures and learn how to develop well the pieces. By the way try to play matches that are relatively long, so you have all the time to think and actually understand the board.
2022-07-02 15:29
Do puzzles, study a little bit of opening theory and watch some GM games, stuff like that.
2022-07-02 15:29
Just enjoy the game, you shouldnt care about elo at all if you are havin fun. But if you wanna improve, you should analyze almost every game you played. I guess u playing at chess.com or lichess or smt like that and this playsites have that opportunity. Good luck
2022-07-02 15:30
learn vienna gambit
2022-07-02 15:30
just watch more video and play less game... you understand quickly

U either have to learn some tactics and game basics or give up for good. 2-15 under 300 ELO is really bad

Practice helps. I suggest playing with friends or getting a chess game, most of them comes with all sorts of tutorial teaching you some of the finer points and not just the rules.

2022-07-02 16:07
in lower elo, like mine, most of thetimes the problem is not looking or focusing on all the pieces. more often than i not i think about doing an attacking line but end up making dumb moves instead
2022-07-02 16:13
Don't expect to get good in 2 days. Learning by playing is good, but I suggest you study a few openings from videos and definitely do a lot of chess puzzles so you learn how to react in different in-game situations. Other than that, just play and have fun.

Learn basic principles and different variations will do. Also, look for every piece on a board, and all of your moves should have a purpose.

chess is probably the worst possible game to tilt in for your gameplay, at least for most people (some ppl thrive). chill, play slower formats, pay attention to the patterns

Books or simply watch some chess.com videos on the study section. You’ll improve a lot, i reached 1000 in 3 months.
