The thing with our capital is as time passed the deliquency on the rise and unregulated inmigration thanks to stupid politics and economical crisis transformed it in a overpopulated mess... more than 8 million of people lives there.... drug traffic, gangs taking control of neighborhoods, illegal commerce, etc is in the growth.
In the other hand rest of cities rarely have more than 300000 inhabitants.. most have 100-200k on average and until recently barely any kind of inmigrants (this changed tho thanks to Bachelet AND Piñera goverments)
Yes we do. Russia is a centralized country, that's why it only has 1 or 2 good cities and the rest of the country is poor and marginalized.
Actually I think most people would understand. A lot of countries capitals are like this, including London.

in east germany houses arent that expensive... my parents bought and renovated our house we have now for around 400k and nowadays i would say with inflation and everything its probably around 600-650k but east germany and in a small village belonging to a small town lowers the price quite much

Since it'd be easy to get a big loan with that money on my bank account id get a huge loan, deposit like 80k on 6-7 apartments and start renting them out to pay off the loan and my own house or rent.
Means, it would easily solve all money problems there can be.

That would easily last me 40 years plus on this globe, even taking inflation into account. Well, could run into trouble in my 70s-80s but not a big deal. Would prob buy a house with it, share a lot of the money between family and just...buy a lot of audio equipment and build a studio, save the rest on drugs and food for the next 20 years.

I'm afraid that $1,000,000 wouldn't even be enough for a Swede to quit job and do something else in life. Prices has been crazy lately. I fucking paid 150$ for food this week when it was like 50-80$ 2 years ago

well i live in Greece right now and 1 million would pay my mortgage (around 150000€), i would buy an eV car for work and a diesel based SUV for travel (eV charging network is still in its infancy here), then i would open 2 time deposit accounts with 2% interest and renew every 6 months for the next 15 years until my kids become 20 and 18, and i would still have around 400000 to have a nice and quiet life.
Of course with 1 million you dont quit your job.

I don't have any financial problems to solve but sure as hell wouldn't mind it, I could buy the appartment I'm renting right now, could buy me a car. focus on my masters degree without doing side job in the weekend, it would just make life a lot easier.

You can take 4% off every year and on average the amount will stay the same. Assuming you re invested in market. That has been calculated by F.I.R.E. people. That means you get around $40k per year, which is an average salary in a developed world. But no need to work, you can do charity or play cs;) And you always will have that initial 1 mil to spend if you wish.

You can get OLD small terraced house/apartment in a small village for as low as 20k euros and Company consideration is usually 150-500eur, which you have to pay every month + other expenses. You can get very small apartment in Helsinki built in the 2000's for 150-200k and older, bigger ones at those prices + company considerations.

Would make life much easier. Would be about 10.3M sek, pay a part of the mortage on my house and be left with 9.5M sek, invest it in different funds and expect between 4-8% interest per year, work as usual at my job for a couple of years to let the money grow then live on the interest.

stake 50% into some stable coin thing to receive around 10% monthly interest (I know it is risky, but I am willing to take the risk). This could be my additional montly salary. Use 5% to buy some kind of hybrid SUV. 5% for my parents house remodeling. 5% use to make my own robot lab in the house (just some initial stuff). 10% I buy bitcoin, ETH and some ALTS. 10% I use for some long trip around the world. 5 % buy some stuff for me, clothes, gadgets so on. the rest (10%) just in my bank account for anything.

Ooh, my bad ahah, 10% yearly. I think blockfi offers maybe 8% yearly. Other more riskier platforms maybe up to 15% ish. Yeah. Sorry again. Also you are right, 10% monthly is nuts and impossible long term.

I’d go straight to mortgage advisor and find out what’s biggest mortgage I can get given $1m deposit + my joint income with my partner. Then id by as many rental properties as possible, pay the mortgages down over the next 10-15 years then retire on the the rental income. I dunno how possible that’d be in the current economic climate with interest rates rising.
