Have you guys ever used a banya? is it like a sauna? Wtf do you do with the leaves? Do you just rub them on yourself?

it's sort of like a cooler sauna. You get to eat food and stuff in them sometimes. Would love to go to a banya after the war in either Ukraine or Russia.

It is kind of massage for chads :D

They smell nice and you can hit yourself with it for increased bloodflow and possibly sexual pleasure

I choose the latter :^)

The leaves have "saponin" in the that acts as very mild soap. The hitting oneself with leaves also remove dead skincells, increases bloodflow and stuff. But those are the main reasons why they bothered to do it in old times. As for now, it gives nice massage, gives great scent to whole sauna and is fun.

You spank the hell out of that broom till no leaves remain intact, and it can get pretty hot up to 100c and more. Can be nice once in a while during summer but no fanatism like the Finnish sauna religion

Yes, or your buddy, or the girl(s), whoever you went there with. It helps not to fall asleep and just sends the blood running down your body, too
2022-07-03 10:33
And after banya you jump in snow. Thats what my dad likes to do.

That is very, very dangerous. Especially if your dad is a senior. I once witnessed a guy leave the sauna after like 15-20min, jump in the pool and straight up die instantly from thermal shock
2022-07-03 11:58

You do not get thermal shock of that

if you dive intothe cold water then yes, but getting a little cold snow over your skin doesnt get you to the danger zone

Well, the way I imagined it is that you get out of the sauna and jump into deep snow. That could be dangerous for some people who arent conditioned enough or have some health issues. Its called cold shock btw, not thermal shock, sry… thats a totally different term. But yea, what you said sounds safe

Oh alright. Then yes probably :) Its amazing feeling tho when you get out from banya hot and then jump into the snow for 30 seconds or so
2022-07-03 21:59
you don't have to hit yourself hard to get hurt. a little spanking is enough to make you feel good and useful. this is done to increase the temperature in the banya and to improve blood flow in the body:)
2022-07-03 11:45
The leafy brooms are for whipping the back of your body from shoulders to heels - it rises temperature of hot air and skin blood flow at the place of impact, a friend can do this to you as you are lying face down on a bench if done right it's painful af but delivers relaxed satisfaction after combined with cold water.

I had to use it twice in my life. I say had to and this is quiet true. I never wanted to do it but I really had to. There was a girlfriend of mine and she wanted me to meet her parents. So we arranged everything. I was supposed to go to their place and have a meal with them or something. So, I was halfway there on a train and I got a message from the girl saying that her father starts a "banya season" and he needs me for that. I was shocked as hell. Firstly, I was about to meet my girlfriend's father witch is nervous as well AND PLUS I HAD TO GO THE BANYA FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE. However, things went quiet well. I even did it one more time with them a few weeks later

Sauna is like banya minus the skanky hookers, so they´re practically the same.

I guess banya have higher humidity, and branches are used for some kind of massage. Me and friends rented a house for new year weekends expecting sauna to be here, but it was exactly russian banya, and the owner taught us to dive in snow after. Daaamn it was actually crazy

”Expecting sauna to be here, but it was exactly russian banya” and what’s the difference between them? I’ve been to banya and sayna plenty of times but never noticed the difference, i thought they’re the same thing, just different names

"I guess banya have higher humidity" Maybe i'm wrong, I will admit it if so, but i think sauna have higher temperature as it have dry air. Judging by my experience it was different feelings

Both have dry air, if you want moist air you need to splash water around the walls in both, sauna and banya, so the water vaporizes and creates moist air inside if that’s what you like

sauna is like for kids or some sht and banya is for mature giga males who torture themselves in here but its an insane upgrade for immune system i mean i got sauna im my gym and its soft so kids and women could go in here after the workout but you have got to be really tough to be able so stay in banya for 10minutes at least im not sure about degrees but its like 200 or smth

sauna is just a finnish word for banya practically it's exactly the same thing
2022-07-03 21:02
I often went to the banya at the age of 3-6, left it after a maximum of 5 minutes, because it was very stuffy, the last time at the age of 12, I could already hold out for 15 minutes, but still I don’t like it.
