I hope so as well but aren't think that. For the past few decades they immensely focussed on diversifying their assets. Sadly the rich oil magnates will be here for a while

They are being prevented from leaving in every way, except physical. It is very close to slavery, but yes, this is a product of capitalism.

Qatar are better than some world cup hosts in the past and better than some other countries at this world cup. And to become asian champions you have to beat Japan, who have a team that everyone agrees on is good. When I say good I am not talking about france, spain, germany good

That’s how Dubai was built as well. By foreign, mostly Indian and Pakistani workers living in horrible conditions with passports taken away and no pay. I dont get why this is the first time I see someone else talking about it. I guess people are so enchanted by Dubai’s/Qatar’s empty skyscrapers and other riches built solely for the sake of building something expensive that they dont care it was all built on blood and bones of people who were essentially slaves
