“-player”: A Comparison
United States ka0nashi
There’s always moments where many HLTV will call for players to be kicked based on consistently bad performances, so why not compare them? I picked xyp9x, TiziaN, Junior and dexter for this comparison, since these seem like popular targets for HLTV users. All stats are from past 12 months with top 20 ranking filter (Junior has yet to play top 10 teams.) I’m just using basic stats to give a baseline, as well as to not infringe too heavily on roles. HLTV rating: TiziaN: 0.91 Dexter: 0.92 Junior: 0.92 Xyp9x: 0.93 KPR: Xyp9x: 0.56 TiziaN: 0.57 Dexter: 0.59 Junior: 0.61 DPR: Dexter: 0.71 TiziaN: 0.68 Xyp9x: 0.66 Junior: 0.65 ADR: Junior: 61.7 TiziaN: 65.2 Dexter: 67.5 Xyp9x: 67.8 Impact Rating: Xyp9x: 0.80 TiziaN: 0.80 Junior: 0.82 Dexter: 0.92 KAST: Dexter: 66.1% Junior: 66.3% TiziaN: 68.5% Xyp9x: 68.9% Overall Analysis: while some stats for these players are not redeeming whatsoever, there are other redeeming qualities to these players, like dexter’s impact, and xyp and TiziaN’s KAST. There’s not much redeeming here for Junior, whose an AWPer with the stats of a support player. Junior’s best tournament vs top 20 teams was at ESL Challenger February 2022, with a 1.01 rating at the event. That’s the same rating TiziaN finished with at the Blast Premier Spring Final, and they fell out at 7-8th place. Junior out of all these players is one thats most deserving of a kick, and more time in T2/T3 to improve his game.

Here’s my thing with MOUZ: I love the org, it was the first team I watched play CS:GO years ago, but now there’s two glaring issues with the lineup: leadership and firepower. Here’s a good way to correct both, while keeping to MOUZ’s pattern of spending little to no money on players; low buyouts with promising futures are MOUZ’s modus operandi: siuhy (IGL/Support) Xertion (lurk) JDC (Entry) Frozen (second entry) Torszi (AWP) I feel like JDC will play better under siuhy’s leadership, as he knows what positions JDC likes to play and how to activate him. You could also have siuhy entry and JDC play support, but I feel like his talent with a rifle is wasted if he plays support. With this move, MOUZ could move Bymas to MOUZ NXT to continue to improve his game. He could be a promising player with more time to develop. He’s only 18, so he has plenty of time to find his identity in the game. If MOUZ are inclined to spend some money, here’s another option: HooXi or AZR (IGL/Support) Torszi (AWP) Frozen (second entry) Xertion or YEKINDAR (entry) Jks (lurk) This would be a scary team, but I don’t see MOUZ buying out jks. And with HooXi, he’s a great caller but a non-existent fragger. Having a team like this around HooXi would create a FaZe-esque line-up, where the IGL sets up the rest team for success and can afford to have lackluster performances.

the problem is: no one is going to watch these nonamers play just release frozen and torzsi so they can continue their career

MOUZ NXT is a T2 team at this point. Other than playing in WePlay, they’ve played high in multiple T2 tournaments. If you haven’t watched them play, I’d recommend doing so. Xertion is the future star for MOUZ.

MOUZ NXT can play T2 tournaments, and were in the top 30. Everyone thought they were going to surpass the actual MOUZ roster lol. Here’s some of their higher placings in bigger T2/T3 tournaments: hltv.org/events/6177/pinnacle-fall-serie.. hltv.org/events/6370/republeague-season-.. hltv.org/events/6279/malta-vibes-knockou..

Xyp even with these stats where they still aren't so bad for a support isn't a problem for Astralis, at least not the biggest.

Exactly my point. Xyp has been demonized ever since BlameF joined and took the lurk role away from Xyp. He’s not playing a role he’s been accustomed to for years, so it’s a big change, and even then, his stats aren’t terrible for a support. He’s not Perfecto, sjuush or twistzz, but he’s serviceable and does his job well.

+1 the real culprits are Konfig with his non impact and Farlig missing his sitters again and again. Even with Xyp stepping up in last few tournaments, Astralis' fortunes haven't changed. That tells you alot.

Whenever k0nfig signs a contract, the team must understand that with a player like k0nfig comes a lot of inconsistencies. He’s a lot like k1to, where he’ll post a 2 rating one map then disappear for the rest of the series. k0nfig is more consistent than k1to was on BIG, but he’s not consistent enough to truly have the impact we know he can have. Farlig is definitely not panning out the way I thought he would. He doesn’t seem comfortable on this team, especially when gla1ve decides he wants to AWP. Astralis pretty much need dev1ce at this point to have any sort of success. He was the pillar of consistency for them, and contributed a lot to the Astralis era. Without dev1ce, acoR would be their next option, but thats also a risk since he was not playing like ML acoR on MOUZ.

Konfig has always been historically inconsistent, yes but lately he has been utterly shite. No impact whatsoever, no popping off games that he usually would have after 1 or 2 series, he is just bottom fragging and crying about how he knows he is bottom fragging in Twitter after every game. This isn't his usual shit, he is utterly worst now.
2022-07-04 19:29

Its not skill, he lacks confidence. A impact player needs confidence to be successful. That goes for every player, but especially for k0nfig’s playstyle. Once he finds his groove again, he’ll need to ride that wave for as long as he can. Astralis have put him in a position where xyp and gla1ve aren’t going to be your fraggers and Farlig has yet to find his groove, either. Its all on Blame pretty much, and without an AWPing presence, it makes k0nfig’s job that much harder. If Astralis do opt for dev1ce again, that would definitely help k0nfig build confidence again, since theres another pillar of consistency and wont feel the amount of pressure he does now to perform consistently well.

I do, too. He does literally whatever the team needs of him, no matter how demeaning the task is. He’ll drop guns, be bait, and play spots no one wants. He's got a winners mentality, and will do whatever the team needs of him to secure a win.

2022-07-04 18:56
1 reply
Yeah coL would 100% give him the space degster needs to play his style. It would also help Grim and Floppy play better since they can be activated if degster gets an opener, and his opening stats are amazing. Out of the 271 rounds degster played vs top 10 teams this year, he had 36 opening kills, which is 13% of rounds was a degster opening kill. On top of that, his opening KD is a 2.25, with a 1.23 opening kill rating.

where is jackz? the biggest reason why g2 won nothing, hope cologne will his last tournament in g2
2022-07-04 19:25

Jackz is a good hard entry. His main job is to get info, but if he can get an entry, that’s even better. I dont expect entries to get entries every time, but I do expect them to be traded if they’re unsuccessful. His round contribution stat is an important one, because he contributes in 7 rounds out of 10 rounds played. Even when he isn’t successful, he plays a part in the rounds G2 win.

Youre right but he also still gives up too many rounds on ct side due to being unaware
2022-07-04 19:48

True as well. His CT side rating is not impressive, and gives up a lot in that regard. He was kept for team atmosphere along with giving space to NiKo to succeed. Other then that, he's not the most impressive player statistically without question.

2022-07-04 20:33
So many excuse for jackz, most of the time on t side niko goes first, on ct side where all players playing better than on t side, he playing even worst. He is worst ct side player vs top 20 team, for example on dust 2 ct side he is B anchor and he dies without a kill or kills only one player while other B players making 2 or 3 frags. he is all aim no brain player and most of the time even his aim isn't at point. He has 41% of maps with 1+ rating which is very bad, even interz from c9 who is full support player has better rating.
2022-07-04 20:02
1 reply
He has more 0 kills rounds than kills in general, so I understand where youre coming from. The issue with replacing jackz with a stronger entry is that they’ll take space away from NiKo, and judging from NiKo’s past, thats not his most favorite thing to do. If you look back at why they kept Jackz, it was the atmosphere he brought to the team. They could replace jackz with someone like YEKINDAR, which id be interesting in seeing, but thats really dependent on if XTQZZZ can make everyone happy with playstyle/positions/roles.

Tizian is also very good in clutches, when he doesnt need to focus on supporting others you can see his aim is actually pretty crisp and he also plays 2v4s etc very smart. Think hes also hard working and motivating outside the server

+1 TabseN certainly believes he’s an important part of the system he has built for BIG, and while hes not the best support in the world, I’d say he's top 7 in the world.

xyp saves astralis in a lot of clutch situations and just clutches. The amount of 1v2s and 2v4s this guy has won is insane

He wasn’t called the clutch minister for years for no reason. He ranks 4th all time for clutches. The list is as follows: 1) shox (802) 2) Spiidi (772) 3) Snax (762) 4) Xyp9x (751) Against top 10 teams, hes the all time clutch leader with 372 clutches. Behind him is dev1ce with 299 clutches.

aggro players have better impact, adr, kpr but worse dpr and kast than supportive/lurking players. so this comparison is barely correct, as u have 3 players of different roles there (only xyp and tizian are comparable, yet playing in different systems) for example perfecto has barely mantained 0.85 impact through his time on navi, yet he's one of the best at his role so yeah maybe your conclusion has a point but this comparison isn't really correct and my personal opinion is that junior won't become a t1 awper even after years of t2 practice. just not that type of a guy to achieve things. he may change and i may become wrong, but now we have what we have
2022-07-04 19:58

This thread was created to see how Junior fares against other players who have been targets of HLTV users for awhile. An AWPer with these stats in T1 is practically unheard of. Thats why I gave baseline stats instead of doing more in-depth analysis, because that would infringe even more on the different roles these players have, and to be fair, I did say that at the beginning. If you look, these players compare very well, since they’re all pretty much at same point statistically. The only difference is three out of the four players here have roles that dont prioritize fragging, while Junior’s does, and theres little to no difference to be seen. Hopefully this clarified a little.
