But did they really look that bad in terms of brexit and was blair that bad? Blair was one of the greatest PMs the uk has ever had, he dragged the country into the 21st century, the only blemish is the war, which any prime minister wouldve joined if america asked. And i voted for brexit, but its gone so badly that it would be a mistake not rejoining the single market. Even though labour cant see that im sure they will eventually.

yeah he gets alot of stick for it, mainly because the left wing dislike him for it and obviously tory supporters will use it against him, even though the whole of the tory party voted with him to go to war. But realistically, it wouldve had to be a far left leaning government for the uk not to join the war. The things he did in terms of schools, social care, healthcare, minimum wage etc are all taken for granted today.

the reason i dont want us to rejoin is simply because of the attitude of the average joe. it would be seen as a crime against democracy etc. rejoining the single market, we could still say we are not in the EU .

Average joe did not knew what he was voting for and he had no idea what the exit would mean. On top many average joes who voted for Brexit will be dead till than. You have more possibilities and softpower in the EU. Outside your are not so powerful and if the UK splits, what will happen with England?

if the uk splits up, almost nothing changes for england. Scotland is such a tiny part of the uk economy. scotland has less population than london and generates a tiny percentage of gdp. Id be more worried about scotland. But i dont think it will ever leave.

Sure but if Scotland and Northern Irland leave, England will become even smaller at the international stage. The average joe didn´t care about your rights and freedoms and wouldn´t it be nice if your children could work and live in the EU whereever they want? It was an nonbinding, so I wouldn´t take it too serious independent what average joe might "think". However, it´s your decision. Sad that you are gone.

Theguadian is center-left and it´s not trash. See I don´t like wars, I like a social net for the not so lucky ones, I want a policy that takes care of our climate, I don´t want to live in a surveillance and/or police state, I want my civil liberties and so on. You must be one of those who want the opposite. Theguardian is one of the few english publications which are normal, like theintercept, emptywheel,... You seem more interested in Murdochmedia outlets. While your outlets are an plague for humanity, theguardian is trying to make this world an better place. I think Finland, Norway, Dänmark, Sweden and even Germany with it´s new Gov are good. Your choices are the US, Hungary or Poland. Good luck.

Great, you don’t want to live in police-state, which you aren’t wrong, but I consider journalist-state (that’s kinda my theory about influence of journalists, country where journalists are ruling, where they use some kind of information against the candidate they dislike, thx to the power we have been giving them over the years, and so they can decide who’s gonna rule and who not thx to that power, so I think media is the biggest thread to democracy) much more dangerous and much worse than police-state. And my choice definitely isn’t Hungary, their government is terrible and I’m not sure if it is democratic. My choice is definitely United States, but not in Biden era, I love the real US, when Ronald Reagan was the president, since him (and 30 years before him) they didn’t have a real president, maybe Trump wasn’t that bad (majority of Americans said before the Chinese virus pandemic that they have been actually doing better than 4 years ago, which probably was thx to Trump’s economic policies. His rhetoric was terrible tho, he was so egoistic, kept repeating shit how he has done something no one ever thought was possible, how his administration is best in American history etc.).

Journalists have one of the most important jobs in our society and freedom of press shows how free they are. There is no journalists - state, but you can see that those countries who are doing best as societies are ranking high when it comes to pressfreedom. Concerning Reagan, he was the beginning of the end. He started brainwashing americans with meaningless and dangerous slogans. Like the free market knows best or triggering down.... Not surprised that someone like Reagan is your hero, sadly the US is in that bad shape because of people like him. If the free media is the enemy of our society, why are those countries leading in pressfreedom also the best and modernst societies on this planet? Somehow that doesn´t fit right?

1) about the journalists: today there are no objective media. All of them are writing for some party, most of them for some centre-left party. In my country we had the biggest private newspaper writing for our centre-left party, they kept writing articles about them, they were advocating them from any critizism from other parties (quite interesting that they werent doing the same for other parties). And thats the danger of journalist state, when people consider these pro-left/right media as an objective media and they vote based on their articles (lets face it, your The Guardian isnt an objective newspaper, it centre-left leaning, just as my Fxx isnt an objective newspaper). And since some people still believe in these newspapers, these newspapers have the power to move the public opinion, which is dangerous for democracy. 2) "modernest societies": i dont care whatsover about the "modern societies," I care about the economic results 3) about he himself, the best thing that happened to our planet in last centuries, Ronald WIlson Reagan: Under president Reagan, American economy had a massive growth, insane number of jobs was created (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jobs_created_durin.. just look at the graph), while he was cuting taxes so American people had more money. Thanks to his strength in foreign policies, they´ve defeated the evil empire-USSR, which was in a terrible situation economically thx to Ronald Reagan, god of conservatism. Thx to his peace through strength policies, America had strong military for the future, strong economical growth, and thx to his patriotic rhetoric they had strong society (only thing he can be blamed for was the growing depth), bright years were ahead of them. Unfortunately, the presidents that came after him were weak. But I will do everything in my power to reestablish the Reagan values.

Well theguardian nor my other sources, like the public broadcasters of Swiss, Austria, France or Germany are not writing for one party. They are telling what all parties are doing wrong and of course, neoliberal right wing parties, which are an plague for our societies and planet, are getting more ciritic. So sorry, your theory is nice, but it´s wrong. Those with the most pressfreedom are doing best.

youre not right. Only one of these that you mentioned I believe isnt writing for one party is the Swiss public broadcast, the German one is the biggest joke tho, n1 m8 I have no idea how can you be so sure that they arent, these left wingers dont have any critical thinking, they just believe what these newspapers tell them, never doubt it and never search for any stats, otherwise you wouldnt be able to write such a stupid thing like "dark era of US started with Reagan" when literally all graphs and stats are saying the opossite, not your left leaning newspapers tho. Get a critical thinking lol
