has no effect for me, i wash it, the dirt is gone on a macro level, but the used areas (areas that i usually have my mouse on) still feel the same / way worse than the "unused areas" ( areas that only really come into contact with my arm)

Zowie GSR gets easily worn out at the places you use the most and slows down, making it very inconsistent. Same with the GSR-SE. If you're into hard control pads, check out the LGG Jupiter.

i think the zowie g-sr which i also have is just too slow and prone to getting sticky with sweat. i fixed the problem as a last resort (and so did most other people) by wearing a sleeve or cutting the sleeve off a sports moisture wicking shirt. that way you get the same control with the mouse on the surface, but your arm never sticks to the pad.

i live in an area with average 75% humidity, so take a look at this note from the mousepad spreadsheet some dude posted, and finally shut up lol: “Zowie G-SR and Humidity day 1 - 57% humidity = Pad feels great, no extra resistance. day 2 - 63% humidity = Pad feels great, no extra resistance. day 3 - 78% humidity = Noticeably slower, takeoff is difficult day 4 - 64% humidity = Pad feels great, no extra resistance. day 5 - 87% humidity = Slower. Changing directions takes more effort and time. day 6 - 98% humidity = Slow all round, hard to precisely click on something. Hand grips to pad. day 7 - 28% humidity = Very low friction, bit too fast but may just not be used to it. day 8 - 92% humidity = So slow, basically unplayable”

just throw on a sports moisture wicking long sleeve shirt or cut the sleeve off one and wear it while playing. arm will never stick to mousepad again, and the feeling will always be the same.

just cs and league from time to time. I had the same issue as op. After 2 months my cloth pads got sticky and after washing the surface was fucked. So i went with the pad that supposedly lasts the longest, without changing the feeling. It was a little fast compared to qck in the beginning, but i adjusted pretty easily.
2022-07-07 21:11
The one I use now is like 10 years old, but every time I buy a new one to use it just doesn't feel right and I go back to my old one. So as long as the cloth is still on it I probably use itXD

The joke is I think it was actually even longer than 8 years. But yea it was a nice everglide, when I replaced it, the company was already dead and gone lol. Now I have a steelseries forgot the name, 30€ or so, the best I could find, it’s still good also pretty old now, but maybe I will replace it soonish. I think pro gamers abuse their mouse pads way more though, he’s also low sense, this abuses pad way more than high sense which i am (I’m 1200 dpi).

2022-07-06 21:40
Bought mine in 2016. In the last days I was looking out for a new one on Amazon but couldn't decide, which one would fit my needs. Got one from Xtrfy with a yellow corner. Don't know the exact name. Would like to go for something similar and bookmarked the steelseries qck with 450x400x6 measurements, which would fit, but I don't know if I will like the surface. Any recommendations? Current ones got a smooth surface which I quite like. Guess it's a "speed" kind of mat?
2022-07-06 21:43
2 replies
Stick with Xtrfy, you already like them and they have good and solid products. Zowie, Artisan, Vaxee and Logitech have good-quality and solid products as well. Steelseries is dope, but I don't recommend them for speed pads. Razer has good speed models, but I don't like the ideia nowadays. You should check other ppl with same configurations/styles as you, specially pros (but be aware of sponsorships and/or the fact that even tho you can hate similar players choices).

Ordered a Zowie G-SR yesterday and want to give it a try. The Xtrfy one wasn't available on Amazon so I thought it might be not produced anymore or something. Didn't dive deeper into looking for it tho. Had a Steelseries one from 15 to 16 but I cannot quite remember, why I used it for such a short period of time anymore and the Zowie had great reviews. Guess I'm going to try a "control" pad now.

depends on the mousepad, something like a g-sr? instantly, something like a razer gigantus v2? around 8-10 months when the glide really starts to lose it, and then you have artisan/lgg pro pads that are near titanium which you can easily use for 2+ years without any problems

Bought the one I'm using now back in December and it still looks good so I don't plan on buying a new one any time soon. I don't play games that much tho maybe 10-20 hours a week, plus sometimes when I need space on my desk I return it back to the box in which I bought it and it can stay there for several days so no dust is falling on it. So yeah just take good care of your mousepad and you won't have to buy one every couple of months

I'm a smoker and I should wash it in a 2/3 months cycle. After 1 year I should change it... but I wash it twice a year and didn't change since 2018 hahaha 1 year is a good period for non-pros.

8/8, don't wash them in wash machine, ever! you'll clean it, losing its aderence and mat properties in the process. check the manufacturer's instructions... sounds like a boomer but it is indeed the best option, since every pad requires different measurements.

they are just cheap small mouse pads, they feel great after a wash and I keep them in place using the edge of my monitor stand anyway.

never I made a mousepad for myself like 2 years ago with a motherboard box + some old cloth and it actually is the best mousepad that i've ever had

One of the most common signs that it's time for a new mouse pad is when the surface no longer feels smooth. Try to recall what it used to feel like when you first got it. Now, move your mouse around the pad and pay close attention to how it feels
