And yes, I understand they are #1 team so they will get "the worst opponent". But now for example ENCE #3 getting Vitality and then maybe G2. The first opponent matters a lot, because if u win it u are already one win away from the playoffs. If u lose the first match, u will start ur dream run from lower bracket which is really deadly. The loser of Vitality/ENCE will be in a tough spot.

Imagine speaking about playoffs ;D a bit different thing in Cologne groups with 16 teams than in playoffs with 6 or 8 teams. Ofc u will face the biggest names there. And btw that katowice navi wasnt even an elimination game, It decided who went straight to semis. But ofc it was an important match still, like an "extra quarterfinal chance"
And yeah I obviously spoke about the first match, because it is really important in this bracket, because u dont want to get into that lower bracket where u have to beat 3 teams. If u win the first one, u are already one win away from the playoffs like I said.
But yeah that seeding got fucked because Vitality and Astralis got into the lower bracket, so they had a lower seeding.

Ok, but why is ENCE playing vs Vitality for example. (If u just watch the rankings). And there cant be those rules that play-in teams cant play against each other again in the first matches, because movistar and vitality are in the same bracket.
And yeah, I will stop crying because Navi had some cool matches last year.

Dunno. I don't like the seeding either cause I want to see how faze looks against really good teams and not against a spirit without degster or having to play against 00nation(which has try, and I want him to succeed, not get destroyed by FaZe). But what else can you do? Either way G2 isn't looking good, so Group A isn't as stacked as people think IMO(but it is harder than group B for sure).
Depends on if furia can bounce back and if liquid are better with Yekindar. But yeah, at first glance A looks stacked. How were they chosen again?

Even if they end up beating G2 which I don't think will happen, they will have to play against the winner of ENCE/Vitality to get to the playoffs or they will end up in the loser bracket were it will be even harder

FaZe must be HLTV's favorite team for sure.
I made a thread saying that they are lucky and that organizers always help them by giving them the easiest and weakest opponents and HLTV deleted my thread. I guess they don't wanna hear that their favorite team is lucky and get the easiest opponents every single time.

Yeah haha, I wrote on that thread. I had a talk with someone there and I wrote my answer about five minutes and then when I finally finished it there was the legendary text "This thread has been deleted" or something like this ;D
I mean IEM and esl events are organized by esl and their own ranking so seeding is based on that thats why Navi is playing mouz and Faze is playing 00nation though

Actually they must think to do draws like it happens on Champions League with capacity groups.
You put on 1st group : NaVi , FaZe , Cloud9 , Heroic , ENCE , Vitality , G2 , NiP .
You put on 2nd group : MOUZ , Movistar , 00nation , Liquid , Spirit , Outsiders , FURIA , Astralis.
And then you make a lucky draw picking 4 teams from 1st Group and 4 teams from 2nd Group and you make the Group A.
The rest goes to Group B.
Finally you have 2 balanced Groups and everyone is happy.

FURIA ? Didnt you watch their last couple of matches ? They lost 2 times from fucking 9z , then lost to Sprout and finally from 00nation.
Group B is only FaZe & Cloud9. Outsiders don't have YEKINDAR anymore and they are #16 on HLTV ranking. They only farm wins against tier2 teams. Their last tournament ESL Valencia they won 00nation , Sprout , Rare Atom , Imperial , lost from Movistar. Their only good result was beating BIG.
