With max you never think he’ll crash out after a driver error but with leclerc he still has that mistake in him. Still a quality driver just lacks that experience of being a race winner at this stage.
tbf ferrari hasnt done him any favours either. i think max/rb are running away with it and the real fight is next season with merc stepping up and ferrari fixing reliability.
also hamilton complete 180 from the shitty ass start of the season.

they have probably the best quali car, but I disagree with race pace.
Sainz was fast, but I mean Perez was shit today and russell was like 10s off of hamilton.
I disagree with the last statement. Pretty sure also Binotto has said the new engine upgrades have been all for reliability and not speed. tho maybe there was another in france that I havent heard of.

They are similar to the 2012 mclaren where they had possibly the best pace, but reliability and other teams catching up slowed em down.
If everything is perfect it would be lec max sainz perez, but there is still some variance track to track.

yeah that was why russell was completely destroying him being consistently ahead of the midfield and behind only ferrari and merc while hamilton was regularly stuck behind midfield cars.
took until Baku for him to get his shit together, and to be fair to him he has gotten podiums the last four races and was only behind russell once since then, but before that he was terrible at times.

I mean I understand your point, but the point stands that he made a big mistakes with those setups. you test that shit in free practice not in races and quali. If he didnt do that they could have been only 10-20 points off of ferrari instead of where they are now.
Even with those setups, how fucking bad do they have to be to cause hamilton problems in the midfield when Russell has shown that merc has the pace to get through the midfield without issue, but the merc ends up in an island by the time they catch ferrari and RB.

mercedes dont care for that, they want to improve asap and this was the best choice to do so most likely. they might have not been here right now if he didnt.
and no that makes a huge difference it can make overtaking very hard but we dont know the specifics as a viewer. but according to merc it wasnt him being bad just him willing to try shit out he didnt care if he'd end low as long as they improve.

As much as I would like to believe what merc is saying I still have my doubts. Its really not surprising that merc would cover ham's ass out of the public's firing range.
Anyways with the way he is performing now its not like it matters much since merc look like they can compete with basically only perez now at least when he just performs like shit. still cant really touch both ferraris with sainz in form (unless they bin the car) and max.

perez is basically ricciardo but in a fast car at least in what I think.
tho he has many more times where he shines but just has 0 consistency (unlike ricciardo which hasnt had any real breakthrough race since like france and monza 2021).
one race perez can be on par or maybe even a little better than max the other race he is having a hard time against the merc.

well I watched a driver61 video about this (and imo its kinda obvious comparing his Renault performance compared to the mclaren the year after) where he just doesnt fit the mclaren style at all and for some reason he just cant fix it after 1.5 seasons.
Lando tbf has had more time in the car and it has been the only f1 car he has driven so he can just get the best performance out of it.
He is GOAT but experimantal stuff isnt excuse for getting stuck ün p14 and being lapped

It would be more tight title race I agree to that. Leclerc wants to be champ and takes more risks than verstappen rn. We can say he is close to Verstappen 21 and Verstappen drives like Hamilton. Steady and smooth risks enough to win the title.
I hope that Ferrari brings upgrades and we see a better season than this.

verstappen drives like hamilton, i dont really agree with that he drives calmly right now because every time lec has the lead the car crashes and there is a big points gap right now. at the start when he did ''safe'' overtakes the redbull race pace was just insane now its kinda equal and hes getting beat overall.
