Top 1 worst roster move in CS:GO history
 |
Czech Republic czRamtin03
-ama +monesy -sexa +aleksib Honorable mentions: -malek +xqc aka xtqzz this team could have been top 1 nowdays, like you had one of the best IGLs and the most underrated player ever that did every single role in CS Hopefully now I can cheer for G2 again cuz no aleksib

nah if dev1ce didn’t break up with gf NiP would be top 3 ez and possible major winners. Hampus is an amazing IGL with great firepower, Brollan and REZ are streaky but when they’re feeling it they can be top 10 riflers, es3tag is a solid support, and Dev1ce needs no introduction.

2022-08-01 08:11
They went from close Major finals to getting out in groups lol. Imo they needed an awper but benching AmaNEk was a mistake. -JaCkz +AWPer would have been better, with nexa taking care of entrying duties. AmaNEk imo is way too versatile too not be kept in a team, he is the epitome of a rôle player, and a skilled one at that ..

I think the opposite, if it was just amanek for monesy I'd be fine with it, but getting aleksib was dumb af. everyone knows he likes to micromanage and the g2 players prefer to be allowed to do what they want. it was doomed from the start when there were reports of aleksib overrulling xtqz

When g2 players were asked why the performed better at major, in 2021, they said it's because the coach, maleK wasn't allowed to talk. You can't say it was a bad move. And clearly you missed worse. Like -rpk +kyojin, xantares leaving BIG, device to NIP, kjaerbye to North (for north but best move in history for astralis)

2022-07-31 21:28
obviously it looks absolutely terrible in hindsight, but it made all the sense in the world when they did it unless you were kicking jackz, and considering how that went last time, they weren't doing it. amanek was their awper. their AWPER. he simply was not good enough to be the primary awper and go head to head with other top awpers on a team vying for top 1. frankly i didn't think monesy was the answer, but the move at least made some sense when they did it. you can make an argument for keeping nexa, but the team had peaked. they weren't getting better than what they already had. they weren't beating navi (at least 8 or 9 out of every 10 times). aleksib was the obvious choice to get, and while I wasn't the biggest fan of getting monesy at that young an age, there weren't a lot of other awpers to choose from. this move looked fantastic at the time, but not all good-looking moves hold up. just because you get the pieces to win trophies doesn't mean they'll be the recipe for success. just ask kevin durant and kyrie irving how that's gone for them in brooklynn.

There was no room in the team for amanek, they had to get a real awper and m0nesy wasn't a bad move, he puts good stats, solo wins some rounds/clutches plus he's only 17. -nexa is braindead, but he didn't want to igl in g2

NiKo, hunter, m0nesy, nexa and amanek would actually work well, nexa and m0nesy have nice chemistry together, but since nexa didn't want to igl they decided to bring aleksi and since he's more quiet they left jackz as the hype man ig. Bad choices, and picking up xtqzzz was a big mistake for that team. Now I doubt the hooxi move, team would just have no chemistry. One more thing, m0nesy is really young and he needs a sort of mentor in the team, better as his coach or igl. Best option was nexa imo, they were playing pugs during player break and it seemed like they'd be a great duo. Yet they bring aleksi and xtqzzz, both not suitable for that and even though m0nesy bonds well with jackz, team just doesn't work. Now they bring jks, who's solid and reliable, but quiet. HooXi, if he stays, needs to be a loud voice in g2. He can also mentor m0nesy, he worked a lot with young players, but xtqzzz needs to go imo. TLDR: nexa+amanek roster wasn't really possible, g2 management fucked up and this new roster will be a failure as well if they don't bring a better coach

I'd argue that even with the hindsight of g2's current performance, the current team is still better then the old one. Amanek was never that great of an awper, and nexa said himself that he didn't want to igl for g2 anymore, no? the situation would have only deteriorated if he had tried to stay with them for another 6 months. NiKo was in god mode for those last few months, and they still couldn't accomplish anything. Go back and watch the heroic & navi games at stockholm, they couldn't do shit without niko finding openings. If NiKo wasn't in god mode, g2 wouldn't have even been a top 5 team imo. No way they could have kept up nowadays with NiKo falling off a bit.
