There is a difference but most of it is placebo, if you wouldn't tell people what server they're playing on, 90% of people in mm wouldn't notice a difference, so there is no real reason for Valve to upgrade servers and basically double their server operating costs

Placebo by definition is when something wasn't being objectively measurable and found to be different in effect when compared to the test group.....when objectively the game/server updates twice as fast with a very measurable FPS hit and nade lineup difference (you cant argue with those) , that alone cancels the term placebo when it comes to tick differences.

Nope , im not arguing terminologies. I'm saying a change/difference which is objectively measured and correlates with a subjective feeling can't be called a placebo, no matter how youll twist it. You're the one raping the term placebo just because you , personally, cant feel the difference, and concluding that of you can't, no one can't, even though "science" contradict your claims. You basically have 0 actual arguments beside what you can or cant feel, and some random close to 0 sample size , methodologically flawed "experiment" to back that up. I did, i just disagree. I do agree the vast majority wont notice a difference, thats true imo, and sorry if i haven't made it clear enough. However, many high level/more experienced players can definitely feel the difference. I myself thought in the past, by default, its just overrated bullshit, untill i actually started to consistently notice the differences to the point i realised i was wrong.

oh yeah, the server being updated with data twice as much per second, in the most competitive shooter that exists, where literally every millisecond counts, is nothing but placebo...thats also why pro and semi pro platforms are 128 ticks only, coz its placebo. The fact you cant notice the difference because you dont have enough hours in the game doesn't mean others can't. There's a reason performance takes a noticeable hit when playing 128 ticks fps wise. Put csgohub.com workshop map, shoot 500 bots on 128 ticks, than immediately shoot 500 more on 64 tick. If you cant feel the difference, go play valorant.

The reason why those services are 128 ticks is because that grants the best experience, but it doesn't mean that mm players can spot any difference or that it even matters in 99% of situations. If you are in an aim duel and 100% of the shots are being registered properly, then doubling the refresh rate of the server won't change anything. And that last part again does not disprove that it is placebo.

The server update rate influences both overall interpolation as well as registered shots (lesser chance a critical shot not being registered), hence influencing the overall duel experience, especially in higher levels. Again, you cant use the term placebo when something is unarguably measured. Your subjective feeling (you not noticing it) doesn't make it a placebo, because it simply isn't. If you think it is, I would refer you again to the definition of placebo. 2. Going by your line of thought, again please, load csgohub.com, shoot 500 bots on 128 ticks, than immediately on 64 ticks. They could probably just announce that the servers are now 128 tick, then keep it at 64 and 95% of the players that are crying about tickrate would be satisfied because I really doubt that they would be able to see the difference.

It is true, you should just try it and see for yourself.The only reason I like to play mm instead of face it becuase of the time.In mm you hit search and that s it..In face it you need to pick ,teams, maps then knife round...to much loss time...But it is better in 128 tick rate especially for awping

Dont worry, I wouldnt comment if I didnt know what I am talking about. I played tons of games on 64 and 128 tick servers. I never had big issues with hitting my shots, except for spraying feeling a bit worse. I honestly doubt that most of the players can feel a big difference. I have seen quite a few globals not even being able to control a spray from ak or m4, how can they tell if they missed because of the server performance or their own mistake?

This could be resolved YEARS ago. You have LE or higher. You play on 128. Lower, you are on 64 tick. Better players usually have better gear AND it is also motivation for silvers to move up.

Almost everyone plays on 120/140hz monitor, the edge your talking about is not that high between 120/140 to 240hz. But sure, its a major boost from 60 to 120 but like I said, most gaming monitors are at least 120hz

The player base would be too divided. Either put everyone in 128tick at LEM or remove short matches and give the option. But 128tick need more servers and valve only care about money so they rather add a new sticker than get more servers

Valorant does not have good netcode. Faceit servers are also extremely inconsistent, you can go from feeling like you're on the best server in the world to a laggy mess that feels awful to play on

no u dont have bad news for me, because i need 120 bullets due to the 64 tickrate being bad, all of my bullets are blatantly going through the enemies every time. And i always get backtracked through the wall when i go behind it. I peek, i see enemy, i go back and 2 seconds later im dead and my camera teleports where i used to be 2 seconds ago. Its impossible to play on. This never happens on faceit. I think u are just blind or slow so u cant see the difference. On faceit ez lvl 10 with 1.3 kd

I dont think this is the only Update we are getting regarding MM.. Valve doesnt usually just do 1 update and leave.. i feel like something is kinda sus around this MM reset. I think more is gonna happen, and i wish to see the "elo" and leaderboards for example (leaderboards i dont even think Valve has to do it, as 3rd party websites would do it).. but the showing ur "elo" is on Valve. 128tick is whatever.. i dont care much, i think its also possible. CS and Valve has changed a lot. And CS:GO might move to new heights. if they did these 2 things, Valve has set MM and done their work for the next 5-10 years easily.

the playerbase is already separated too much between 64/128tick, this sounds like even more of a headache. 64 tick servers would be mostly dead anyways. Honest to god I don't even care which it is, I just want everyone to pick a tick rate and stick to it. It's silly that we switch between the two constantly for practice/mm/faceit.

can't believe its 2022 and still 64 tick... granted, a majority of players would not be able to tell the difference but its frustrating how some lineups don't work on 64 tick compared to 128 tick. I'd actually play MM again if they did this: Make it possible to select server regions, like CIS, EU, NA etc. Maybe an option to force certain servers like only swedish servers or whatever. Make it 128 tick permanently, this excuse about older computers is just pure BS, more ticks = more bandwidth. Valve is being cheap, thats the problem.
