If not even worse. Food is shit Buildings are full of mildew and you will be sick 99% of the time. Lot of people are idiots and full of themselves. You do not have enough freetime with ability do whatever you want. Lot of waiting.

Also you often can't choose what you want to do so for example I had to stay for 347 days when I just wanted the f out of there asap lol

its not even true lol, you have your normal 7-16 duty and then you either live near your barrack and can go home or you stay in the barrack and leave on weekends. most choose the barrack that is close to their home anyways, so its literally like any other job.

Op is talking about mandatory military service not work, ofc work is like any other work. Like I work in the army and got the normal 40h work week (bit less actually) but in the mandatory service you are stuck doing what you are told basically from 6am-6pm.

Well if he says it sucks it's pretty obvious he isn't there because he wants to. Especially if you know that all Finnish men have to go to army. Also working conditions are obviously better, food is better and you are not waiting stuff to happen all the time.

I was in the army in the US and most days I was off at 3pm. I actually had a ton of free time more often then not. Deployments are obviously a different story. In the US the military is a great great way to start life particularly if you have nothing going.

Basic training for mandatory conscripts (18 years old males) in the Brazilian armed forces usually takes 90 days, after that you'll start receiving specialized training for the next 9 months (such as artillery, paratrooper, etc). There is also a 2nd mandatory service in Brazil for all college graduating physicians and nurses, who after graduation can be forced into conscription. In this scenario, doctors usually receive these 90 days of basic training spread as: the first 45 days, and +45 during training camps. For the remaining of the year, they will most likely be stationed in an army hospital working as regular doctors. Edit: evading mandatory service in Brazil is quite easy, only ~10% of the 18 years old male population gets conscript every year.
