Teams MOST Likely to Suceed after player break
Canada FireblazzPhoenix
Which of the teams are most likely to succeed after the player break? Navi (99% chance) I think sdy has got a chance to review his mistakes and finally given a timeline till Rio major end to perform and integrate better into the team. NO event to-event pressure all the time and he would be more comfortable as time passes by. Whether or not, they would be able to beat Faze however, is entirely upon their preparation and firepower in crucial games. But for sure, as a team they would be improving quite a lot after the player break. Liquid: ( 95% chance) I think Yekindar signing looks to be as permanent judging by their vlogs, interviews and other videos and it's probably a matter of time before they can 'officially' announce it. TL would probably be the most improved team (both rankings wise as well as eye test) after player break. I expect them to be in top-5 if they all continue to work hard by the end of this season. Maybe win an event even if they are able to work more harmoniously. Furia: (50% chance) I honestly don't know where the team is at and lost a bit of faith in arT as an IGL. With a very good rifling duo of Yurrih and Kescerato and a consistent AWPer (and a good rifler in Saffee) with drop as a young gun, they should have been a top-5 team and reach quarters/semis at the very least of every event. A complete coin toss for me whether Furia would improve, become worse or remain as it is. Astralis: (40% chance) Astralis might perform slightly better due to new teams just formed in player break after a month or two, they'll crash out of top-10 and would be a top-15 team unless Farlig becomes God-tier which is not likely to happen. Vitality: (75% chance if Sphinx confirmed) Unless they get Sphinx, don't see them improving that much and Apex, Dupreeh aren't exactly looking that alive. Misutaa is benched so it would be pretty awkward for them to play with him if they can't get Sphinx. If they do get Sphinx (which is the most likely option), they should be able to improve but it would take some time as Misutaa wasn't exactly put into star positions. G2 (85%) As much as I'd like to meme on them, JKS over Jackz is a very clear CT upgrade and Hunter and JKS both will have their preferred positions on both sides. But, how much Hooxi would be able to get the G2 team (and specifically Niko) and XTQZZZ on the same page is what remains to be seen. Maybe they get one of those honeymoon periods similar to Katowic this year. But, we'll have to wait and see. Ence (10 % chance) Easy to play in native, spanish team but a whole different thing to play in international squads when everyone is closely watching your demos. I think Mopoz was sick but Sunpayus, good but not THAT great. Ence might even drop out of top-10 quickly since they probably are losing both Hades and Sphinx. Safe to say, they won't be improving much after this player break. Cloud9 (35 % chance) As much as I liked them, they seem to have been figured out by all teams and if Nafany doesn't get his openings, they are not able to get many rounds. Their style is still not LAN proven (and it showed it's flaws in Cologne when Nafany had bad games). They need to deal with ideological stuff and how they want to play CSGO as a team entirely and it would take a lot more than the player break to figure it out, maybe even a couple of roster moves. They would probably drop out of top-5 but I think they would still remain inside top-10 as the roster still has a lot of firepower. Let me know if you want to see your favourite rosters analyzed in the comments below!

I honestly don't have any reason to believe that Mezii is a great/good IGL. Would have like to see them fix issues with Alex or maybe try and get Aleksib from G2. When you have very good firepower potentially, a good IGL is what you need to break into top-10 from top-20 and then into top-5 and then contending for trophies. They might become top-10 with their firepower but there are way too many variables to put my stock into whether they would succeed as a team. Would need to see how they perform first against international tier-1 competittion/ S-tier events before I make any judgment.

Of course. They performed very well at Cologne and Yekindar wasn't even good save a dust2 and a couple of Vertigos. They need time together, but they literally have NAF, Elige and Yekindar as top-20/10 riflers. Didn't even count Osee yet who is only improving. Nitr0 is a decent IGL. They literally can only improve.

Faze is just too obvious, don't you think? They already are #1 and already eyeing to get the IGS as soon as possible.

Faze(95% to 99%) most probably. They still would be hungry to win grandslam and majors overall

I think Cloud9 is atleast 60-70% chance. While nafany isn't as good as he used to be, he's still decent as IGL. The main reason why they were so inconsistent is because Hobbit fell off.
2022-08-06 15:09

Nah, I wouldn't necessarily agree 100%. Hobbit is mainly a lurker and he's only as effective if the entry pack of the team succeeds. Nafany heads the entry pack. If he fails (which he is recently), the CT's can always devote a dedicated player to watch for the Hobbit lurk and thus, he (Hobbit) essentially becomes useless. But that being said, he isn't also outputting the kind of firepower he used to in online events and some LAN events where the entire team failed... I think this is not just firepower issues (Ax1le and Sh1r0 are literally like top-10 rated players of this year) so despite such good players you are not able to get through consistent quarters/semis, they need to work on their system and ideology on how they would like to play as a team.

Sorry, forgot about OG. My bad. Agreed, anything less than top-10 is something OG should not be satisfied at all and depending on their practice and how well they can perform as team, they can only go up. I still wouldn't put them in top-5 though. They can if literally all their players are in their perfect roles with good synergy. In order to become consistent top-5, you at least need to win S-tier events which I honestly think they would lack. They firstly would need experience getting to semis and finals and then, we can talk about winning events and top-5 consistently.

apaart from G2 and Liquid I wouldn't change a bit. I'd reduce Liquid significantly, because after the honeymoon goes away I see their problems coming back real soon On G2 I'd reduce it too, maybe to 70 or 65 because 85 is just too high for this team

I would disagree with Liquid. If you thought Cologne was 'honeymoon' for them, I actually think it was the opposite. They tried their best but had so many protcols problems to deal with and that's why they lost so many anti-ecos. You don't even get a stable map pool within 10 days and yet they made it to quarters and probably would have even made semis which imo they should have. I can sort of agree on G2 especially after so much failures from the past few years...so it becomes difficult to put proper stock into them. But I still think they can make it work. Maybe something like 70% would be a more realistic scenario for them. But usually, G2 is one of the teams that have had good honeymoon periods so I gave them the benefit of doubt.

I honestly find it very hard to believe that they suddenly became like a top-8 team and Cologne was just a starting point for them. It reeks of fluke to me and the fact that other teams couldn't get their shit together in time. I still don't believe that much in dexter as an IGL. I still don't believe much in their team composition and their roster as a whole. Maybe like a 35% chance for me. Could be even less than that if other teams get their shit together on time.
2022-08-06 18:28
I have high hopes for G2,and liquid definitely can get better furia is definitely fucked though they did not look promising at all, even losing to 9z two times before cologne

The Furia team just don't seem to have much consistency. If that's the case for any top team, I usually question their team structure/IGLing something a coach is also responsible to a good extent. But as Brazil always goes, they would just kick their lowest stats player, replace him by another young gun and rinse and repeat. Really hope this fucking stops. Feels bad to me that in a region with so much abundant talent, there's only probably 2 competent IGL's - Taco and FalleN. And they were in the same team from 5-6 years back... So, no new upcoming IGL that I've heard of. They should also consider replacing Guerri as I don't think he's accomplished much with a roster of such good quality.

I honestly loved what I saw from them in terms of team structure/calling in general. The issue was firepower in some respects. Never thought that I'd be saying this, but if there was a better player than Coldzera, they could have been so much better. He legit looked washed as hell. I can forgive Taco to some extent since he's having not so good roles and IGL's the team. Need a better player than Coldzera. Or if he drastically improves his game which normally I bet against but Coldzera is an exception. For someone who reached as high as a peak as him, you need to hope if he can still turn around. But don't know whether he's still motivated enough. 80% chance they improve. But to what extent they could peak/ceiling, it's unfortuately not high unless coldzera picks up his slack despite having good roles.
