Agree with you, my personal experience was a bit different. I was so skinny, I got perfect abs, etc. I just did the ,,eat big to get big" thing, and although I have gained about 14kg, i got belly fat, my abs were gone totally but my arms were still very skinny. My daily carbs intake was about 800. I was afraid to have a dad bod, so I lowered carbs to 300-400, and trying to eat atleast 110-120g of protein each day.
I'm at 12-13% bodyfat at the moment, bulking again, but trying to be more aware this time.
