Young Bubble Flames is 10 years old, in 5th grade.
In fifth grade, many American school have safety patrols. Since euros may be unfamiliar, think of this as a "child security guard." You arrive early before school and stay late after school, and have responsibilties such as walking the hallways and making sure kids are following the rules, helping kids cross the street, etc. The volunteer-position gives you "authority" without truly giving you authority.
My safety patrol position was to stand at a corner outside the school, by the parking lot. It was the best post because I had to do nothing, and could just sit in the shade and chat with my safety patrol partner. I had a few different partners throughout my safety patrolling year, but my main partner was a cute Blonde girl named Sarah.
So every day before and after school, we would stand at our corner post and talk to each other. I always enjoyed my time with Sarah and we had several games we'd play together. We had this thing where we would pretend there was a homeless man who lived in a trash can at our corner post, and we would always look in the trash can and say stuff like "Oh look, the hobo left his glove"
That retarded sort of stuff only 10 year olds could think of.
Halfway through the school year, our teachers announced we would have "assigned seats" as lunch. Cringe as fuck.....But I had huge luck and got assigned a seat next to Sarah (lowkey I wonder if the teacher did this on purpose)
So along with seeing her before and after school, we now ate lunch together every single day. We would always play "I Spy" at lunch, it was great fun!!!
I talked about Sarah at home and my siblings/parents would tease me and call her my girlfriend. This embarrased me a lot, so one day I told her not to talk to me anymore when my parents were around. She asked me if my parents thought we were in a relationship, and then I got even more embarrased so I played dumb saying "Relationship? You're not my sister!"
Sadly we went to different middle schools and then I move to Guatemala, so I never saw her again after this. Still I think of her fondly, she was the best female friend I ever had. She is probably off at some Ivy League school doing big things now, very smart and kind girl ))))))))
