how come he went from being ass in RBG hltv.org/stats/players/matches/17930/wiz.. and Carpe Diem hltv.org/stats/players/matches/17930/wiz.. to being much much better while playing against the same or perhaps better opposition hltv.org/stats/players/matches/17930/wiz.. hltv.org/player/17930/wiz#tab-infoBox Is stan actually a good igl and mentor?

thats the thing, he was bad for years and right until he got signed by eg, he had like 0.99 at the beggining of summer, now hes aiming for 1.3+

I'm sure he's put a lot more effort and love into the game when he was signed to EG because he has an org backing him.

When he was signed to rgb he was still mediocre. Stan is just goat igl

That's also what I'm thinking, I'm sure stan has helped everyone on the team a lot. I'm sure his salary is much higher on EG as well so that may play a part as well.

He was pretty underwhelming when they just got signed to EG. Got shit on by Pain, meh v Brazen , and Gaimin

Must have just put more focus into the game and learned a lot from stan, getting better and better overtime. This is all just assumptions but I'm sure it's because he's putting more love into the game while being backed by a big org like EG and learning from veteran players.

That’s what I’m wondering before this the only reason why he was still even on the roster was that lifegame against high coast

his game against high coast was absolutely ridiculous though
2022-09-27 05:00
So, not only is cerq absolute garbage, but EG has an academy awper that is very promising. On top of this, EG has picked up a player from said academy team and is now doing much better. That being said, I expect cerq to outlast everyone else on the roster.

T2 NA awpers are such a miss cuz util is pretty bad in t2 scene. People like osee and junior can have 1.3 ratings in the scene and are mid to trash in t1

its why EG's 15 man roster is actually brilliant. My first 2 minute reaction to hearing about the Blueprint was 'this is the dumbest shit ever, what is this management' then I thought about it a little more and thought 'okay buying Party Astronauts is braindead but the 15 man itself is actually a pretty good idea. It's a more useful idea than just a flatout academy team' They need to make more use of what they have, though they could've gone for a team like Gaimin Gladiators or something instead of PA. HexT was a great pickup they should be more proactive in swapping out guys like wiz or Clasia when he was around

This 15 man roster could be a huge advantage now that Valorant franchising has forced out some NA players I’m not saying that many of these Valorant pros would be willing, but imagine being able to rehabilitate a Wardell or a JasonR through their academy sides There’s some potential to Blueprint, but that depends on how willing their management are to use it as their tool

Playing with a better structured team probably. Stan and RUSH are firmly entrenched in support roles.

are you even watching EG Black? this team is so fucking bland, its just sad. Stan and RUSH cant do anything here. about wiz: this guy just looks decent in tier 2 against teams like fl0ms mythic. this guy is not the future of NA CS.

Honestly +1 wiz has been so mid for a while and now he’s doing good in a team with little to no firepower around him -HexT and -Clasia basically killed the team. However, I think Stan is having a big influence on him and they are giving him more star awper type roles and plays and not junior in furia type shit

yeah FURIA really know how to destroy AWPers, thats true. however, I have no faith in stan since he got kicked from the EG roster he has been struggling. i was talking to some guy this week, and i really think that replacing Cerq with a NA AWPer is best case scenario, but tbh wiz isnt that special imo. its half time on Inferno and he's something like 7-11 on the Tside? Against an org like Mythic, i dont think thats impressive.

He’s been kinda impressive and I don’t really blame everything that happened to EG on Stan as they were happy to bring him back. The management is kinda shit and they really put a collar on Stan and then daps not letting them make any roster changes that they didn’t want to be on the team anymore. And wiz is prolly the 3rd best t2 NA awper with junior and Pwn being the only better ones

yeah ive seen wiz' last games and it looks like he's doing fine, but against what teams? EG Black cant do much against teams like MIBR, TeamOne and ATK. I really appreciate it that these guys are willing to grind the scene tho and hopefully we see more growth.

It's a "high risk, high reward" situation in NA. Give a Tier 2 player a chance and see where it goes. If they do bad after a few months, drop them for someone else. It's better to give Tier 2 players a shot than to pick up washed up players or recycle the same people in the region.

This could be a hot take, but I think EG is wasting their time with EG white. Those guys already hit their ceiling and won’t really do anything in the coming months while the core of EG black is still young and can maybe develop more

i watched them play at Fragadelphia, and tbh they were having fun, but respectfully: it doesnt seem like theres more in it than that. Still, EG management decided to take these guys in, so hopefully there is a masterplan :))

Well, NA orgs are known for having lots of resources and wasting them. Look at Cloud9 with their failed "Colossus" project and Complexity with their failed "Juggernaut" project. Now, EG has their "Blueprint" project which was basically just picking up 2 of the best Tier 2 NA teams for themselves and making a few changes here and there. How disappointing that NA has so many resources and they usually just go to waste.
2022-09-27 06:19
I feel like EG black is just lacking so much firepower. I understand wanting to develop Walco as not an igl and try to flesh him out and stuff, but it’s not working. Chop should be getting the stats that Stan/rush are getting, but he is also pretty underwhelming. I think the guys and Clasia just need to get over whatever beef they have so they can get an actual prodigy on the team

totally agree on that, they are severely lacking fragging power. that was part of the reason why i think wiz' stats are a bit inflated. nevertheless, they are doing decent in group A of the ESL challenger, and maybe they can push it a bit further.

They played pretty close v Mibr and team one, but with just a bit more and not wiz solo carry they for sure could of won both of those games. I think they might get top 4 in ECL which is kinda dissapointing as the core really hasn’t made a huge progress and became as dominant as other ecl teams in the past. The team is planning on an EU boot camp later in the team or early next year, so hopefully they will actually be good when they come back

Awping in NA t2 is the easiest thing to do. Like it’s crazy how there can be so many constant 1.2-1.3 rating guys do this in NA tier 2, but against EU tier 1 they turn into bots
2022-09-27 04:55

well i think awping in t1 is pretty hard these days regardless of the scene, it seems that even euro t1 teams signed to big orgs that fail to get genuine awp prodigies get stuck with mediocre 1.02 rating awpers
2022-09-27 05:36

There is like 10-15 good awpers in the world rn imo. I feel like these guys either need more setups or play the awp in a different way to which they can get more impact. Like it’s the best weapon in the game yet so many bad awpers exist it’s a weird conundrum
2022-09-27 05:38
In any case he should be moved to EG White so that Wiz and Viz play on the same squad

HexT doesn’t take up any space tbh. He’s an anchor and a hard entry who occasionally carries the team. Clasia was just average star player guy, so I feel like wiz had the space, but never the confidence or igl to tell him to go for all these opening picks and stuff that he is now doing under Stan

i don't know if you're just misremembering but Clasia wasn't just average tbh. He was shitting on most of upper tier 2 NA. The Clasia, HexT, and Chop rifling core got them to ECL Finals. He's great, but his mental is in the gutter. really hoping for a resurgence from him soon.
2022-09-27 05:48

I mean average as in space he takes. He was one of the best fragger in ecl, but he’s a little toxic then he was reformed copium and then toxic again I think? He also got to ecl finals with chococheck guys I’m pretty sure

+1 makes sense to replace CeRq with wiz after major, see if that works for a bit even better because they can probably pay him 1/3rd CeRq's salary, he's younger as well, and best of all he's a homegrown NA player. I don't imagine he couldn't do at least as well as CeRq which isn't a high bar but eh. If they can't afford to buy out a good EU/CIS AWPer, why not go for wiz
