Nah they have 4 chances including Rio. Rio is the last IEM event THIS YEAR, but they still have a handful of chances next year too

i heard people saying that, because they think that karrigan will retire before winning IGS
2022-10-02 03:18
Can you explain me what happens if they dont win any tourney at all? But their trophy count is the highest so they automatically win igs?

If they don't win any more ESL/IEM events, that means other people are winning them and whatever team wins 4 with 10 events first will win.
2022-10-01 22:53

Yeah but what if all other events are scattered along the teams homogenously?
2022-10-01 23:18

it's a running thing, first to win 4 in their 10 tournaments window gets it and the count is reset to everyone. if no one does it, money is just not paid. "grand slam" doesn't really mean anything, it's just an extra Intel/ESL prize. what Faze did on the first semester is more impressive than a grand slam.

If all the event wins are spread among different teams and no one wins 4 events within 10, then nobody wins the Grand Slam. It's not a thing that lasts for a certain amount of time like there isn't 1 million given out each year. It's only if a team wins the number of events they need to. If no one does it, no one wins

For Vitality to get grand slam they would have to literally replicate FaZe performance in 2nd half i mean its possible but lets not get ahead of ourselves they would have to get EPL + Major + Katowice 2023 + another ESL event

They already have IEM winter. If they win epl, then just 2 more. Still far fetched though. Let them win EPL first.

i think this is the reason why they didn't wanted it in first place but i think trophies matter more than this. Even if they won't win Grand Slam i just hope they will win major. They deserve it especially ZywOo and Spinx

iem winter champion of vitality is still included as liquipedia displays
2022-10-01 22:59
It does count
2022-10-01 23:02
It counts buddy. Otherwise NAVI wouldn't have won their grandslam either since they won their first tournament without b1t and then b1t joined. B1t got 3 out of 4.

Maybe it does count if it is tied to the org but that is just plain stupid if it does. Titles should be tied to the core of players, not to the fucking logo they represent.

it does count, because ESL awards records based on the org rather than the core, unlike BLAST or majors edit: nvm i'm wrong, checked the igs rules intelgrandslam.eslgaming.com/rules/
2022-10-01 23:19
They've won 0 events so far. They kicked 3 players after IEM Winter so they need 4

the tournament doesn’t count as they kicked Misutaaa, shox, and Kyojin which makes their core change

It's in case they remake the original core that won IEM winter. They'll probably have 2 entries if they win a tournament that counts toward the IGS with a new core.

Doesn't count. intelgrandslam.eslgaming.com/rules/ > Teams are allowed to swap players between tournaments, but a core of the same three players has to win four finals together in order to be eligible for the Intel Grand Slam.

Vita does deserve major 1000% I hope they win and maybe one day also niko wins a major but maybe not while being in g2…we will see

I think we need to see more of evolution in NiKo rather than just being himself he s crazy at aiming but it kinda feels like as years pass NiKo is gonna be declining in form especially as rifler. Maybe it's time to take Apex/Karrigan/Electronic route bring a star player if hooxi won't be playing insane, XQTZZZ can help him a lot he has taught apex great things as an IGL. Obv im just putting that as opinion because if they did get NiKo IGL and Rigon for example to G2 and put work into it. It can be wonders only my opinion though but i hope best for NiKo
