Disgusting from Valve that there are just 4 teams. There should have been atleast 8 teams

No? not even all of pre covid Asian/oceanic cs was great an Australian team made it to the Major playoffs twice, and Asian teams weren't always going 0-3. Obviously, covid killed nearly every region outside EU but after covid every other fuckng region except APAC has gone back to pre covid levels we have downgraded if anything. If APAC was just supported maybe it could improve its competitiveness like the America's

We barely get any attention lol. We keep being involved in C-tier to B-tier Liquipedia tournaments and no S-tier tournaments. I get travel is a major problem but if we gave those teams more chances we could actually see good results.

If memory serves, Tyloo made Legends a year before Renegades made Champions. And old Greyhound gave them a good scare in Challengers for at least one of the 2019 ones.
2022-10-10 08:09
+1 Does Valve want to encourage new regions to create teams like this? Minimum 2 spots
2022-10-07 09:25
its killing the asian scene when valve does shit like this instead of trying to help it to improve and grow

Lmao this RA GH match was a complete shitfest, I don't want to experience it again. Even if GH make it to the Challengers, it's gonna be 0-3 or 1-3 at best (just as always). Sorry bruv but this is harsh reality, AU teams don't have nothing to prove

By that logic, then increasing the RMR teams to 8 shouldn't make a difference to the end product right? So why shouldn't we do it? At the very least then, more teams get international experience right?

It increases the organizer expenses, because if we take this tournament, all the RMRs are LAN, so more production time, salaries, venue rent, etc. On the other hand nobody watches this shitshow, so there is no profit in more production hours. I think this is one of the main reasons tbh. And if you want the organizer to expand the quals, you have to provide viewership and support from the crowds, which is only possible to get with the quality of play, obviously, and media maybe. But none of it exists in asia and oceania regions So the conclusion is that the scene is dead and nobody wants to invest into its development

"So the conclusion is that the scene is dead and nobody wants to invest into its development" This is absolutely wrong. Money may play a part of it but to call the scene dead therefore it has 0 monetary value is just a completely effortless view of the region

Even they’re better than these APAC teams. Like pain won ESL challenger Melbourne. Reducing the amount of qualifying spots to the major would increase domestic competition. Can u imagine how driven teams like grayhound and RA would be if only one chance was available? And this would increase if the 8 teams happened too

That may sound good on paper but in reality, I think you just demoralise teams. APAC is already getting low support reducing the major slot from 2 to 1 and already having limited qualifiers for EU tournaments, many players just wont see CSGO esports as a viable route and leave

Possibly if they try the 8 team system and the standard doesn’t improve, it can be reduced to 1 qualifying slot. Because if that becomes the case then this region is basically lost.

If it was 8 teams instead of 4 I could see the benefit. But the level of competition right now doesn’t justify 2 teams, especially when a random European team is clearly better than top Asian squads.

more chinese/asia orgs will blossom Asia cs again. I remember when absolute zero had a team and japan had a small scene because of it

Nah I reckon -1 Au -2 China (biggest player base hence the most) -1 Middle East -1 South Africa -1 Mongolia -1 Asia -1 LCQ and then the teams that came 2nd battle it out for the last chance qualifier

i feel like it s better to give one spot directly to china and rest teams should fight in open quals asia

You'd probably need to give australia a slot to and probably Mongolia don't think it'd be fair if they both had to play on 100+ ping
2022-10-07 11:16
Seeing as China's rep just came 4th of 4 on the weekend and 3rd of 4 in the prior one, I don't think they should be getting the auto slot. If anything that should go to Mongolia seeing as IHC topped it both times.

were talking about the rmr and having 8 teams it does not make a difference regardless if these teams are getting 2-0 at least they are getting the experience. Do you understand how demoralising it must be to just sit in your own home region having barely any events to play no way to improve an 8 team RMR will just be so much better

the region itself should prove itself, thats how it works, you better develop competitivity, major spots come after

2022-10-14 05:07
Imo eu/na org should abuse the shit out of asia rmr by picking up a majority asian/au roster so that itll grt attention and getting an eu star/igl/awper in that team whichever they need for example Vexite Boros Ins igl Mantuu Bymas/nertz This was just of the top of my head but i think they could easily makes ez profit by sticker money. A team that would actually compete for top 10 wouldvr been mouz if they have gotten jks when he was available Jks Vexite Dexter igl Frozen Torzsi

Im pretty sure the EU players will need to based in x country for the majority of the year, so good luck getting players like mantuu frozen etc moving to thailand, middle east or Australia could work probably with some t2 players tho
2022-10-14 05:50
Bro, there aren't even 4 teams in each of this regions imagine 8
2022-10-14 05:47
ok, 8 teams fight for 2 spots in challengers, doesnt change shit anyways so why bother
2022-10-14 05:56
its for IHC and Grayhound to perform good, prove yourself, prove your region, make it to playoffs, then there will be more spots next time
2022-10-14 05:58
all rmrs are double the teams of qual spots because why would you want to waste thousands of $ for irrelevant teams that aren't gonna qual anyway edit: also asia has not shown worthy of more challenger spots
