This is a reminder to all of you pet owners to regularly do medical check ups to your pets, don’t ignore and do all of the medical tests.
IWe've done several blood tests over the past 2 months, went to numerous vets and everything was perfect even tho my dog wasn’t feeling good. Our main vet, after all these months, found out my dog has metastatic cancer and we’ll start chemo.
Please don’t ignore your pet’s medical tests, every test of my dog was even better than a puppy (and he was 12 years old). Cancer can occur without being seen on the tests.
My dog died today just after 15 mins i got back from university, all of my familly was present.
Some people dont do even their medical tests... please just please do reguralry all of you pet's medical tests and yours too

fuck man. This really make me sad. I love dogs. Hope you manage OK. Losing your main dog is like losing your best friend. I have more sympathy with you than 99% of all humans on this globe.
If you get too depressed, buy a new dog. Honestly, just do it. Your brain will say no, dont replace him.. But it will heal you. Good luck and hope your dog find dog heave <3

R.I.P sometimes it's just their time, we did tests with my dog, and one day after 16 years when I was visiting home, she died in my arms 5 minutes after I showed up. Remember the memories!

1year and 6 months ago my 18yo cat passed away. Now I have 1.7 year cat already, its main-coon. She jump from 5th floor when she was running in my room like a tasmanian devil. She just got on the mosquito mesh and fell down. We immidietly went for medical-chek up. Her bones were not broken and no blood bleeding inside. She's so lucky. She lost only 2 tooth from left side like two fangs.
Mine died two days ago. Both of his kidneys started failing in september and there was nothing I could do to save him. It was all about delaying the inevitable until it happened on a whim. My sister has been crying non stop since.

Something similar happened to my kitten, but luckily everything ended well.
She stopped eating and started losing a lot of weight, after a while we found out that she had bowel cancer.
We had to put in a tube to feed and medicate her, and she had surgery to remove the cancer, and is now undergoing chemotherapy.
Thank God everything went well, but the night before the surgery she stopped moving. We had to manually take her into the litter box. If it had been days later, she would no longer be alive.

Always sucks to lose a pet, i also went through the same thing back in May, lost my dog after 16 years together with him. He was starting to get a bit sick, was turning blind and deaf, but fortunately he didn't suffer, he died peacufully in his sleep.
He lived a full and happy life, got lost so many times, but always came back after a day or two, all dirty but always wagging his tail, we didn't even have to look for him, we knew he would come back and always did, loved car rides, and the first "person" to ever go on a car ride with me after getting my driver's license was him.
I'm sure yours lived a very happy life aswell, and one thing that helped me get past his death was remembering the good times i spent with him, and looking back and seeing that i did my job as an owner by being able to give him the best life one could possibly have, and i'm sure you did that for your buddy aswell.
RIP, my family's dog of 13,5 years had to be put down about 3 months ago since she also got cancer and was too old for surgeries or anything like that to make sense. It's always tough to lose a pet but remember to be happy that your dog got to live a long and a happy life since I'm sure you took good care of it.

going to the doctor to force an old dog to live longer is the most selfish thing one can do, pet doctors are not like human doctors, in 99% of cases the pet will eat tonnes of medicine and be in pain every day and you are selfishly just forcing it to endure the pain so that you can be "happy"...
If it was a sort of medium/large dog 12 years old is quite average, just remember the good times you had together, but yeah its super hard :(

I want to add a disclaimer to this for people who don't understand the medical system. most medical tests are terrible and wont detect a problem with you unless you're on the verge of death. doctors are not like House, they will not figure out your problem if it's rare or doesn't show up on a normal blood test. the best thing you can do for yourself is to regularly exercise and eat whole foods.
