Yes that's what I mean though. It's like Germany that dubs almost every movie. If there is less access to the english language, then people will not learn it at the same rate as if there were more access to it.
Now obviously I'm not saying everyone should learn english, but in this day and age I'd say it's rather important to learn at least one major language.

the french language is also very much more regulated than other languages, they have the académie française, it's also part of the reason that english isn't proficient in France (but the reality of why the french's english is so bad are probably much more complex (and probably takes root with the opposition between french and british empires))

It takes root in the fact that French was the de facto language for diplomacy for a very long time, coupled with the hatred of the british and the competitivness with the british empire meant that english was never promoted in France simply because government and people (people now not so much I guess) were genuine ennemies even when they were allies (post ww1 etc).
I doubt this will ever change and honestly no one really cares, it has pretty much become a meme. I will say that younger generations are much better at english and you can work your way in France while only speaking a couple words of french now especially in Paris

Still that's pretty fucked up cuz if we didn't expect many other people to come to brazil for the major, actually many other fans from different countries would probably like to visit first ever blast major hosted in comfortable EU country. That thing may ruin crowd diversity + it's much better when casters on stream can interact with the crowd + having some noname french caster (like that was in Rio with noname Portuguese catsers) instead of well-known English ones would be boring even for the French themselves

What filters do you use? If you're not fakeflagging, it could also have something to do with the ads/advertisers per region.
I use uBlock Origin and some kind of proxy thing. uBlock Origin didn't work for me at all and the proxy thing worked until like a few weeks ago.

yeah they fixed all the ad blockers I knew of a few weeks ago. they just keep cracking down on the ad blockers

It shows some Twitch banner that it's running commercials, but no actual ads for me. Completely breaks the player though
Twitch ads are not that bad honestly. They are in breaks anyway so the flow of the game is not interrupted.
I usually mute and just glance at some incredible valuable thread in hltv. By the time i responded to the thread the ads are already gone and the second half is coming.
In my region i get 1-4 ads. Maybe if you get 8 like i read in some twitch comments it is more of a problem.

They are usually louder than the stream I was watching, which makes it really annoying. And they play it in multiple blocks during Blast sponsored content that I may enjoy, but can't watch because of the ads. In case of the Blast stream they actually break my player, as it will literally not turn to the actual stream for some reason (countdown top right just stuck at 0:22). During the Elisa tournament it was only when I opened the stream, so it wasn't that bad.
Meanwhile Blast preparing their survey to ask me if I saw their sponsored content lol

After comparing the FaZe vs Heroic game I have to agree, the Twitch version does look crispier.
It's weird though, because the YouTube VOD is using the VP9 codec, while the Twitch VOD is using the AVC1 codec. The VP9 codec is supposed to be superior to the AVC1 codec, specifically for FPS games too.
