And what I mean is it is just purposeful baiting and toxicity on controversial topics like transgender and Russia and America and Qatar. Gets old and toxic every single day no break. Look at the front page half the topics are bait and banworthy but there is a severe mod shortage. Every other forum has 24/7 mods. Please add more mods, thank you with respect

it most definitely was, but for the most part the threads stayed up. irrelevant, but I've been playing cs since 1.6 and lived on gaming forums since i was a teenager. I don't see how that would seem exaggerated.

Not even remotely close to being true, but it's cute that you're trying. The forum didn't start turning into the edgelordery cesspool that it became until like 2014-2015. The 1.6 community was in no way edgy compared to the zoomers that later flooded the site. If anything, it was downright friendly here. So either you're senile, or you're lying.

Choas started 2013 onwards, though... That was when the baiters would frequent the forums more often, then 2014 was when all of the toxicity started and users were actually leaving the forums because of how toxic the userbase was.

I would say it's definitely better compared to the times with racist-word thread spam, and scam links to every 1st post.. but I'd definitely also say that it was better around 13/14 than it is now. At that point it hadn't turned into an edgelord echo chamber.

"just add more mods" isn't the solution tho, there would have to be a process of selecting appropiate people for this position, trusting them enough to give them moderating powers, making sure that the scales don't trip to the other side and that this forum doesn't become a strict shithouse for serious people 45+ only. also please give an example of "every other forum" the size of hltv
