I dont think a subreddit would be the best place to determine whether a gpu, much less a company's gpus, would all have issues, considering the only ones that are posting are the ones experiencing the problems.
however, you are right that certain games favor nvidia gpus (but it goes the other way around), applications tend to work better on nvidia gpus, nvidia gpus tend to have more features like ray tracing cores or dlss, and nvidia tend to hv more refined drivers. The good thing with amd is that it is open sourced, so I can enjoy it with linux support with no issues while I have to go through a few more hurdles with nvidia (not much of a reason, but a big one for me), tend to be cheaper with the same amount of raw performance without the fancy features, and amd gpus tend to age a bit better than nvidia gpus. for instance, the vega 56 was slower than the 1070 at launch, but with consistent driver updates that fixed amd's initial unstable drivers, it is faster than the 1070 (even without flashing the bios).
