yo this is extremely bad, but I'd honestly go for 8+ gigs of ram and an used rx 580 8gb or 570 8gb, this will come out cheaper than a new gpu and you will definitely feel the difference! Also, a ryzen 5 3600 would be a good second step before you go for a "new" gpu, csgo is really cpu heavy

This site gives very optmistic bottlenecks, other ones may differ by 10% in the amount of bottleneck caused. Just be wary that the bottleneck will happen, the size is unknown

Uhm, I didn't know you can quantify bottlenecks. What tells the size of the bottleneck?
2022-12-01 18:56
3 replies
A simple way to do this is say, you have a 100% working processor and 80% working gpu, that could be a 20% bottleneck. Will vary application by application and game to game.
2022-12-01 20:39
2 replies
Uhm, the processor is bound to feed the GPU with data and the operation working at 80% of the "capacity" of the GPU means nothing really. I think it's really hard to get the say OpenGL commands from a CPU to the GPU and provide "100%" usage. The whole point is that a scene rendered is up to a number of metrics like the concept of what we are doing. If the scene uses 100% of time in GPU the FPS will drop. This is the way the FPS is calculated. The other way around is maybe not either granted like the CPU may not have anything to do to get to 100% usage. This makes it hard for me to calculate a point of a bottleneck, that is the bottleneck is not simple to calculate. Obviously if you have a slower CPU, or memory, and you feed textures to GPU memory you will get a bottleneck with the main RAM memory. But that's also part of the FPS which is really the point. More expensive the hardware you have the better FPS you get, but there's hard to judge concepts of bottlenecking. Oh well. I don't think that the FPS is that important.
2022-12-01 22:16

Depends on how you define it. Some people say that when a processor can't "use" the entire power of the GPU, then its bottlenecked, even if its not exactly a hardware problem. Its poorly defined an since sites will give different figures you can see why.

Makes no sense... not the card nor the drivers fault ur having issues, solve the problems causing it instead of being naive... Guy has nvidia, buys amd, install amd, unstable, buys nvidia stable... never figured out that the old nvidia drivers caused the issues... EXAMPLE 1... we can go through another 200 examples... Always fun solving peoples pc issues, blaming something for it but its their own fault for either having 2000 programs running or drivers that interfere with the stability.

AMD made me become a tech support guy for gpus for the amount of time i went to forums to solve problems. Never once i did that for nvidea. I am not going to bother to need to fix every single problem a GPU gives me (whats the solution for fucking dying and black screen thgo?) Nvidea got in, i never did any tweaking other than uninstalling that extra software, and never bothered with problems again. By the way, if you are an AMD simp, i easily use AMD processors since forever, but their gpus was a dogshit performance.

Ur inability to solve a problem that isnt the fault of a gpu nor driver isnt amds fault... you do know 99.99% are having no issues right??? Is the nvidia drivers horrible bcus a few amount of ppl are having issues? black screen, freezes or crashes?. If the driver was the problem majority wud have issues... but majority dont, not even close.

2060rtx is a decent allrounder and still runs most new games on ultra 60fps+ at 1080p. Got this card for like four years already and it's probably one of the best cards in terms of value for money.

Yeah, he just said that you need both a good cpu and a good gpu to get good fps. Liechtenstein not doing well in reading comprehension. You are solely wrong of thinking that he should buy a 2060 with a weak ass processor. Burning money when you can better use your gpu with by upgrading the processor. Oh it was so good to go buy an rtx 2060 and have... 178 fps. By the way, all of these fps are massively overrated and not representative of stress situations with a lot of util in mm.

If you're not going to stream get the 6600 XT. Not only is the 6600 more powerful, AMD drivers use less CPU power and since you're going to be CPU limited in CS:GO it will benefit you further. Nvidia has better encoder so if you want to stream or make fragmovies go for that.

Wait for 4060 if not then go for 6600xt now, better performance than 2060 while still being relatively cheap, in fact its better even than 3060 and cheaper or same price idk how much they cost now Tbh going for anything lower than 70's and 80's when picking nvidia is pointless rn since amd's budget gpu's have so much better price/performance ratio than nvidia's budget gpu's like 60's.

2022-12-01 22:31
6600xt is probably the better choice. By the way, I think amd software and drivers are okay nowadays. Got a 6600 and haven't found any incompatibility problem. Adrenalin at the start feels weirder compared to Nvidia's panel, but in the end it has way more things and is as easy to use once you feel the hang of it.
2022-11-30 10:50
If purely for gaming then 6600xt, but if you want to do some productive work it may be worth it going for 2060KO. Reason for that is that 2060KO has the same core as 2080 but with some things cut down - so gaming performance is the same as 2060 but some productive workloads are at 2080 level since some stuff is still in and active. If you plan on doing some work on your PC then check out Gamer's Nexus video on 2060 KO to see which workloads are crazy good on that card - iirc it's rendering that's much faster and like nearly twice as fast compared to regular 2060 but there's more to it.

Close to the same price? Shouldn’t even be a discussion. The 6600XT is the superior gpu by far. The 6600xt is even better than 2070 super and 5700xt. And the current AMD software is more than good enough, don’t let those arguments dissuade you. And if you wanna use ray-tracing 2060 is too weak to even attempt that.
