Ill probably go ahead and say Global Finals will probably be below PGL Antwerp since its not going to be that big but who knows

i think esl 16 was pretty good actually maybe it should be higher but i can't remember most of these tournaments anyway. RIO had the worst showmatch ive ever seen, the worst crowd (with the stupid horns as well), worst finale maybe of all time. Bad interviews, bad brazil hosts, the best thing from RIO was ohnes stream and the memes. I think rio probably deserves the bottom spot.

Problem is that EPL is now played in Malta in front of some random hotel guests.. so not really top tier event anymore

That is true the malta angle was pretty poor. I just think the actual games were way, way, way better than rio.
pro league had great matches and vitality winning in that close final really did made that final fun to watch
but i put them at the bottom simply because of ESL doing a terrible job hosting it, feels very cheap. Its kind of a joke even when you consider the event itself lasts a month.
I could maybe rate it higher than Rio since the matches were better, but its still not anywhere great

nah Faze vs Navi rivalry was definitely the best thing about this year that i wont forget anytime soon
made Cologne alone the best event maybe ever in history of cs
everything after Cologne is kind of forgetable or disappointing though
blast copenhagen was really good but the fact it happened right after major and during wc was probably what hurt it

I agree with everything on this list.
Blast Copenhagen and PGL major could be switched, but both have great story's.

-PGL, amazing major, amazing crowd, first international team winning a major and ofcourse deserved Rain MVP shutting up all the -rain haters on this forum

i think its a good amount to be fair
some are more important than others and not every team attends everything
if Pro Leagues were shorter and everything wasn't hosted by ESL then that would be such a great world to live in

yeah variety sucked this year, we in fact had esl and blasts only + pgl major. No dreamhack masters no starladder, plus pre covid there were faceit ecs, eleague, epicenter. replace one of esp pro leagues with ecs league and add 2 dh masters on top would be perfect imo

i had to put blast up there simply because of how in general they do so many things right for production
reason why fall final is in my top 3 because it had a great final and a great storyline of cadian finally winning. The crowd wasn't the best but it was good.
also i don't take into account groups that much as long as the quality teams still make it to playoffs. Yea blast groups do need a lot of work

The playoffs were really good in the fall finals so it was definitely pretty good, but any 8 team tournament can never be better than majors in my eyes. Its just not enough counter strike for me. Not enough competition, not enough matches, not enough storylines, not long enough. Its just fundamentally not a big enough tournament for me to consider it even the same level as normal 16 or 24 team ESL events. Its a nice small tournament, but that's all it is in my eyes. Nowhere near as epic as majors or ESL playoffs match quality aside.

Cologne finals combined with the crowd produced the best final and match in recent csgo history
That alone makes it guaranteed classic event
I agree the other playoff matches/teams weren't great but the top 1 vs top 2 storyline of faze and navi made the event that much better it didn't matter that much
also a lot of events like cologne also had the same problem of not having that good teams in playoffs

yeah katowice had all of the good teams in the playoffs
i think it was the one event where all the actual top teams at the time made it to playoffs
and the final despite being 3-0 was really good too
it should be in theory top 1 but the Cologne final being a 10/10 match is why its 2nd
btw it was virtuspro and heroic

Dallas only flopped because of visas and the event taking place right after the major
it wasn't a much of a flop, just oddly organized
in the end i liked that cloud 9 won that event with the crowd behind them, though the finals wasn't that great.

yeah i see a lot of people have the same opinion
the reason i put them that low because it felt like that event did more harm than good, with probably the worst playoffs of any major and crowd controversy
the groups were really good though. I do think that was the amazing that it was in front of the crowd, but sadly the negatives outweigh the positives for me

nah rio major was bad bad crowd in playoffs too much underdog teams and so much crashes and disconnects also blast Lisbon better than Copenhagen imo
ESL needs a crowd for their pro league matches.
It feels like glorified LAN matches
