never played any witcher game other than 3 (which I liked a lot), is it worth trying the others despite the bad graphics?

Witcher 3 slanders the first two installments and it isn't even funny, the dlcs are also great and add other layers of story

The first two don't even come remotely close to the third in the series.
Witcher 1 was dated even when it released and it had terrible controls and combat.. and aged horribly on top of that. But the story is interesting, so I hope the remake will be any good.
Witcher 2 was... average at best. Decent story, annoying camera angles and a rather forced linear gameplay with the illusion of freedom of movement. It brought some nice ideas which made W3 good, but other than that, not really worth playing unless you're a big fan.

I played witcher 3 for about 20 hours, then got bored and went back to dark souls 3 for a third play through.
played witcher 2 for 7 hours and uninstall because is was terrible (imo).
never understood the hype. story is fine but the fighting is so inferior to from software games. no fun for me.

love witcher 1 for music and gloomy atmosphere, but otherwise witcher 3 is simply a better game. Tried to play witcher 2 for about 4 times but eventually dropped after second act. Combat feels vevry clunky and unpolished, dodging is utterly bad, cant use potions while fighting and on high diffiulties the game has balance issues even if you carfted good equipment, entire gameplay for me was just - cast quen, spam left mouse button until you get hit, move away from enemy to cast quen again, repeat until you beat everyone. I played witcher 3 on maximal difficulty and when i had bad euip it wasnt a big deal, because dodging in this game works just fine. So yeah, i'd rather just stand still and press left mouse in a right time like in witcher 1 than having a witcher 2 combat system.
So my list would be
Witcher 3
Witcher 1
Witcher 2

all 3
but guess what, next witcher comes out - hello torrents
even if they decide to sell it here officially

1- Witcher 1, its perfect in general but a bit old and its attack mechanics are stupid. Im waiting for the remake.
2- Witcher 3, almost perfect.
3- Witcher 2, meh i havent like it much.

Witcher is fucked CD project red sold out to corporate overlords that's why they were fine with their series being trash and even Henry Cavill couldn't stand the far left woke activists they had making it who themselves said they hated the universe games were meh, 3 is the best just in terms of gameplay but even then it's still a weak game compared to other games of that style I'd put Skyrim above the witcher and that game has a fuck load of problems and lazy choices made by the studio.
