its literally the best advice u can give to a <30 year old. ur body is still forgiving in that age. caloric surplus is a caloric surplus, look guys like mat fraser, he literally ate a 500g ben and jerries every night. thats fkin 1400 calories alone and its way easier to eat than healthy 1400 calories. healthy doesn't exist in that case.

avoid cardio, only do weightlifting also, unless those 4 meals are superpacked, you're undereating right now, from ages 16 to 25, you SHOULD be eating 5 meals per day, not 4 and definitely not 3, is just that most people eat 3 and then a bunch of really shitty toxic snacks in-between, and this satiates the caloric needs but with bad quality. Just eat 5 meals per day with fruits in between as snacks, and make 2 of those 5 meals superpacked.

Always, that's how a fresh and healthy metabolism operates, but obviously, if you're trying to LOSE weight you're having a smaller punch in your mouth and of lighter and healther food, if you're trying to GAIN like this guy, it's gonna have to be heavier stuff. You only gotta start thinking about less meals if you're 30+ and you're between fat and obese but you're neither , or if you're 28 and you have really unlucky genes.

its not even healthy? who are you to say that? i eat well and exercise well. im not super strong or anything but my body is pretty toned because i mountain bike. i could make my entire diet a shit ton of cake and i wouldnt gain weight, thats just how my body works. i dont look like i have an eating disorder and i can exercise or exert myself just as much as any "regular" person. its fucking ridiculous to act like you know my body better than i do and i doubt that OP has any real problems either considering all he said it "i look like a skeleton". i stand by what i said in #12 and unless you actually come up with something of value to say then you should probably shut your ass up.

it is worth noting i am 17, maybe in a few years ill gain more weight but ive maintained this weight for years. i generally avoid soda and desserts but i still eat a lot of fast food and microwaved meals

yeah ur BMI is like <17 and being underweight starts at like 18.5. i think you eat less than you think, i find that a lot of skinny guys who say they "cant gain weight" literally live off of microwaved meals and like a single bread a day lol just eat more man. i can guarantee that you're not eating enough. if you wanna gain weight that is. if you feel fine with how you are then dont ofc

im really quite happy with my current weight so im not planning on gaining more any time soon. my meals are generally pretty small but i also snack often. usually if i eat after i dont feel hungry anymore i get nauseous but idk if thats a big deal or not. basically i havent felt "full" in a super long time but ive been fine like this for a while so unless something comes up that pushes me to try to gain weight ill probably just continue being the way i am. thanks for the advice :)

I had to gain weight because I was 54kg and 183cm and the bmi minimum for joining the armed forces was 17.5. My bodyfat was literally 3.5% Some people are just built different I'm 64 kg now but that's after eating way too much for like 5 months straight, and my bodyfat is still only 6-7%

nah, your concept of eating "way too much" just isn't what you think what do you eat in a day that you consider eating "way too much"? don't lie 99% of the skinny people i talk to considers 2k+ cal eating "way too much," which just isn't for some people with slightly higher metabolism. you want at least 2.5-3K calories to gain weight, possibly a bit more. but it's not difficult to shovel down 3K calories in a day, it really isn't

I've had troubles gaining weight in the past as well. I'd say it was impossible. Gym helped me a lot, or just home excercises. I can't put on any weight unless I work out, doesn't matter how much I eat.

what helped me alot was protein, every 3-4 hours try to get 30-40g of protein in. have 3 big meals breakfast, lunch, dinner and inbetween protein feedings.

Humans are built to gain weight when there is enough food. So the fact that you are not gaining any most likely means that you are either eating way less than you think or you are moving more than you think and so spending much more energy than you think.
