they may be the same franchise, but there are some clear differences i the game and even the maps +grenades.
also sound design is way better in 1.6 to my understanding so that may be a big difference tho i havent payed much 1.6

1.6 is very much an angle holding game with far less emphasis on aim. This is entirely due to spamming. You spend way more time shoulder peeking and pre-aiming in CSGO.
The two simply aren't comparable though. Things that work in 1.6 are totally useless in GO and vice versa.

utility is objectivally less powerful in 1.6 than csgo (even with stupid 5 sec long flashes)
just watch how people entry sites on mirage and tuscan during pro games, very basic utility usage and mostly going for aim duels

Everything you said literally lines up with what I'm saying. You have to hard clear angles in 1.6 because they're static. Utility in GO is about position removal. Since you can't spam through objects you're required to take 100% honest duels.
GO is far more aim reliant than 1.6.
Watch Markeloff or fRoD play with AWP vs s1mple.

smokes and mollys along with flashes in csgo can basically be used anywhere on the map
you can smoke out ct, jungle, connector and molly triple and under palace and basically have the site for free
also smokes actually work in csgo, you cant double zoom through them like in 1.6

That i agree with you. But I still believe utility is more powerful in 1.6 if we focus on HE, flash and smoke and put molly out of the equation :)

even without mollies, utility in GO is more versatile because of opened sky boxes (and even without). T-going to B site on inferno is much easier in GO because you can smoke two out of three key positions even without showing the presence close to the position. Flashes during such an attack are also much more versatile, as can be dropped into diverse positions and not only over the roof of a banana, like in 1.6.
HE grenades are really incomparable in both versions, with much more effect in 1.6, there are no queries)) Even a renewed physics of grenades cannot help HEs in GO)) It is even like the issue of wall bangs in both versions with more joy in 1.6))
You cannot shoulder peak in 1.6 you'll get punished through the edge of the wall, in 1.6 once you peak you're committed to attempt to frag making the game more reliant on aim.

Saying that it's hard to judge as the player base naturally has gotten far better than in 1.6.
I still believe players like s1mple would carry even harder in cs1.6, 1.6 seemed to benefit the god like players more than CSGO.

Of course you can't shoulder peek, for the reason you said. Which is exactly why aim is far more limited. I'm not sure how you make that statement and don't understand the implications. Watch CT setups in 1.6 vs GO. They're far more static and angle oriented. GO requires constant micro-adjusments and target tracking by comparison. 1.6 is NOT a more aim oriented game.
Spamming is a term from 1.6 used to describe shooting through walls. I'm not talking about recoil control.
S1mple would be fine in 1.6 but his play style would be dramatically different. That was the entire point of my comment. 1.6 you crouch-peeked hard angles with AWP if you're doing an entry, because holding angles was extremely powerful. S1mple running into a site and flick-shotting 2 people wouldn't be common.
Also, yes, the teamwork in GO is way higher but it doesn't really change the mechanics.

Well, the angle holding mainly comes from the fact that there's no peeker's advantage in 1.6 as well as because of the fact that a shoulder peek means you'll get spammed through the wall (if you peek a corner it's going to be a hard commit). Tagging is also ridiculously high in 1.6, so you can't sprint through being shot or get away easily once someone hits you through a corner. In 1.6 your momentum dies the instant you get hit, even in the air, it's pretty brutal compared to Source/GO.
The person holding the angle is always at the advantage, even excluding the whole "strafe to hide your model behind a wall" thing.

This is 100% true.
In 1.6 you actually had to aim to kill. Players relied on aim heavily. Had to stand/crouch still, aim and shoot, you know? There was no ridiculous braindead crouch crawling and spraying at the same time, running/jumping with smgs and shooting with 100% accuracy.
and the sound man the fucking sound in csgo is a damn shame. In 1.6 u could hear so fucking clearly where everything was coming from.

It's not... If your definition of aim is letting someone run into your cross hair and you pull the trigger you clearly don't understand the term. 1.6 is far more positional.
That's not to say I don't disagree with you about the ridiculous shit in GO. I hate that the game rewards shoulder peeking and constant micro-shifts to be effective. You almost never see a pro player hold a single angle without jiggling it because there's no deterrent against it most times.

more satisfying recoil than in csgo anyway. Because screenshakes directly correlated with where bullets goes, unlike in csgo they're pure distractions that adds artificial difficulty to handling recoil. While also makes gameplay look more shitty. Cs 1.6 fragmovies were beautifil, exactly because perfect recoil control resulted in smooth aim right on enemy.

CSGO aside from being massively more utility driven is totally different aimwise.
Walls are hardly spammable which means accuracy and reaction time are more important than positioning.
It is far easier to hold an angle in 1.6. CSGO the advantage is with the peek and acceleration seems faster.
And then the recoil, CSGO has set, learnable patterns.
A 1.6 player can get by but they have no chance of doing well unless they learn all the utility.

You should've played 10 years ago when people were trying to go pro. 1.6 is aim mostly, combined with movement and big gamesense. Utility in 1.6 is weak af, so if your aim isnt good you are never going to be really good, no pop flashes, one way smokes or things like that. CSGO is made to attract more players, so its made to be more teamplay, and more utility, lots of tactics, etc. In 1.6 we had like 30-40 people who were above everyone else. In csgo it changes every year, just cause everyone can use their strengths and compensate for their average aim for example by learning lots of util and things like that. And people saying peeking in 1.6 is easier, i dont think they've played against people spamming ctrl and scroll like crazy
