oh I agree and yes I do think you should take age into consideration when looking at swag's ban. In the US you only get tried as an adult when you're a minor if you do some REALLY bad shit like murder and rape, whereas swag was a 15 year old pressured by dudes that were like 20-25 at the time for a couple thousand dollars in skins. I know real adults that haven't paid their taxes in 2-3 years that haven't had any sort of penalty (yet) and meanwhile a kid who couldn't drive a car or vote lost a couple CS games on purpose for a little bit of money and had his entire career cancelled before it really even got off the ground.
The rest of those involved in the iBP matchfix deserve to be banned for life, not just for their actions in throwing, but also for taking advantage of a 15 year old because even if it's not public, we kinda have to assume that there was internal dialogue within the guys throwing that maybe if they got caught they'd get in less trouble if a kid was involved. You have to think they at least entertained that idea at some point. But free swag.

Probably 70% of the elderly players (not just Professionals, but the community in general) have cheated at some point or another. I have cheated with my classmates back in the 1.5/1.6 era just for fun. Can you blame a 7-8 y/o ass for cheating? Or 12, 13, 14 w/e.

have to agree. I am not saying that he is lying but we cant know if what he is saying is true or not. Just because someone sues someone else for something proves nothing. The people blindly believing him are fine to do so, but I wouldnt just trust his words like that because there are hundreds of examples of people lying about anything in public just to look better and they also will do anything for that goal
It was also proven that both case relevant accounts that Jamppi was affiliated with were bought with his parents CC, giving some credibility to the story that he "bought the account to someone else".
However, valve made this discussion irrelevant, as Jamppi is allowed to compete.

Jamppi and his friends had a Lan party in 2015. Jamppi already owned csgo but one of his friends didn't so Jamppi makes a new account, buys a new copy of the game and gives the account to his friend. The friends account gets banned 2 years later. Jamppi's account and his friends vac-banned account were linked through phone number / credit card information. Jamppi's unability to play Valve sponsored events (Majors) was revealed when he was about to join OG's first csgo team. He was unbanned in April of 2021 after Valve changed the rules of how long VAC-bans are effective. Jamppi switched to Valorant earlier in the year of 2021 but his legal case against Valve most likely had an impact to the rule change.

The account is verified to be bought by his parents credit card too, so essentially jamppi never had either of his accounts "under his name", which also made the case more murky

I think he should be unbanned, too much time passed, we should believe in humans improving.
There's a lot of commotion whether lifting previous bans were justified or whether the people should've been held suppressed. Furthermore there's also many ways of seeing things but my recommendation for your own sake is to focus on your own well being rather than seeking justice or having a moral grandstand. Guaranteed everyone of us do mistakes and then we pay the consequences. Sanctimony only makes yourself look worse than your target.
This guy is a real freak. First, he cheated and got caught. Second, he came up with some bullshit excuse (it wasn't me, it was my grandmother's dog). When that didn't work, third, he went to some random LAN and put up a decent performance then claimed that he had "proven" himself and should be unbanned. When that didn't work, fourth, he finally owned up to it. I personally do not believe in lifetime bans, but this guy deserves it for just being so utterly moronic. The scene is better off without this imbecile.
VAC bans are permanent, non-negotiable, and cannot be removed by Steam Support. If a VAC ban is determined to have been issued incorrectly it will automatically be removed.

I have a steam account with cs:s vac banned on and it’s been vac banned for literally like 13 or 14 years and it wasn’t me who did it. I’ve cheated in games before a bunch but never anything online multiplayer, so I know I didn’t do it because cheating in a game like cs isn’t just a series of button inputs or typing power overwhelming so I know that I didn’t do it. But this was also around when I was in HS and we didn’t have things like 2factor auth or even text verification cause a lot of us didn’t have cell phones yet (not saying they didn’t exist just saying a 15 year old in HS typically didn’t have a Nokia brick phone and the Motorola razr came out when I was a freshman in college) we were all using windows xp and sending each other songs and pictures and shit on AIM and mirc and long story short getting a keylogger or making an account on a website was like 1,000 times more dangerous than it is now. I remember being at a friends house once and when he logged into wow my main was logged in from somewhere else and was responding to whispers in horribly broken English and I still don’t know how I got hacked.
