After watching brazil at this WC its hard to think that they got 7-1ed by Germany, brazillians make their opponents look like they belong in a lower league every game, its crazy.

You can do that, but it wouldn't make sense. It's like I support a team from Chile or Argentina when they can compete in the same big competitions as my country teams

Supporting a team is a matter of heritage and regionalism. I support Sporting because my father and my grandfather do it (the latter since the 1930's) and also because I'm from Lisbon. It's just weird to me that a guy from Indonesia or whatever supports Liverpool. The only connection he has to that club is from some games he saw on tv and he probably liked the players from that specific era and not exactly the club itself, its founding principles or its history.
I mean I also admired some teams in the past due to their style of play or the stars they had (late 90s and early 00s Inter, Milan, Juve, ManU, Arsenal, Mourinho's Chelsea, the galaticos Madrid, the Guardiola Barcelona and so on) but I never considered myself a supporter as I didn't really care if they won or lost a game. And once those players left, I really didn't watch them anymore.

But like I said, you're European, it doesn't make sense for YOU to support any secondary other team from another European country/league since some team from your country can participate in the same big competitions as them, like Champions League, Europa League etc... thing that the local team of a fan from Arabia, Indonesia, Brazil, Mexico, etc, can't do it, understand?

Yes I understood that. I was trying to put myself on your shoes and imagine what would be like to live outside of europe and it still wouldn't make sense to me. But I guess I'll never know. I get that the best clubs are here and so there's that appeal from an outsider. I guess what I'm trying to say is that the love for a club will never be the same as it is for someone who has that connection I mentioned

But I believe that the 'support' of the people, like mine, is support as a secondary team, and not as 2 teams that they are supporters at the same intensity
