I am familiar with "Cowboys From Hell", too. And I must say that one riff (not the album, really) is truly iconic, so my previous comment was a bit over the top. But I've always been frustrated that Dime, despite being a virtuoso, failed to create anything else as good.

that is true and you are allright they were never famous never heard of him also never heard of his band but i know green day system of down sabaton metallica billy tallent rammstein slipknot and more bands and i am not rock or metal fan i listen rap and pop and that means he wasnt famous and his band was never that good because i really never heard of that band or him and i am 25 yo that means he wasnt popular and succesful as bands i wrote above

he has recognition in all of rock and all of the subgenres within it, as well as the guitar community. The biggest issue is he wasn't unique in a sense as other legends of the craft. He more helped pioneer the nu metal style of playing without making the shitty "chugga chugga" rifts that bands like FFDP get ripped on for by music elitists The music also being a quite literally physical product of its time, it didn't have the best audio quality because of budget and equipment limitations. Hard to sound like Slash or Synyster Gates when you don't have the money or the technology to back you up. Electronic music, no matter how skillful you need to be, always has a chance of suffering from being electronic.
