Hello everybody! What programmer are you? Backend or Frontend? If you are a Backend dev what is your opinion on Frontend, and the same for Frontend devs. Which one do you think is easier? Which one do you think is harder at a lower level, and then which one do you think is harder at a higher level?
Is anyone back end without knowing front end?

honestly if i would start learning backend today i would go with kotlin + spring or js + node
if you feel like backend its too hard you can easily switch to mobile development with native android with kotlin or cross-platform with react native
but if you are 100% sure that backend is what you want i would suggest c# with .net

I have been an aspiring talent in the Frontend empire. However, my css skills have been letting me down. After a while, my hair started falling, started whitening, my skin got worse and worse, my apetite has transformed from an angry wolf to a sturdy rabbit. I was suicidal, depressed, but I found a new HOPE in backend development... Since then, my life became easier, my family started loving me again, I even touched grass yesterday. It was amazing. Thank you Backend for this opportunity to turn my miserable life around into a better place.

Which one do you think is harder at a lower level? front because there are so many technologies to get to know when you are starting kinda annoying ngl
which one do you think is harder at a higher level? probably back
All of that shit is easy, and it doesn't require the smarts, you only need experience and google. This is usually more true for the frontend compared to backend, but not by much. Backend gets considerably harder at higher level, but again, you can be an idiot, learn exclusively by mistakes and google your way through the job.

full stack dev here and i honestly prefer backend as most of the time the client has no fucking clue what they want on the front and requirements change constantly, and i'm not the most design focused person so struggle to come up with a look and design myself. but if i have a rigid set of requirements for the design i'll bang it out fine but CSS is 100% the worst thing I work with for sure, it's so annoying!

I'm learning front atm. I enjoy because i feel more creative.
"" Finish "" to learn html, css, sass, scss and javascript. this week i'll check if i have enought of the JavaScript basic to start to learn React.
But I like to use pure CSS/ SASS with flex and grid .i don't feel like i need to learn framework like bootstrap or tailwind but all the job are looking for shitty bootstrap. So i'll have to 🙄
Fullstack is the one true way for salvation :D
My degree graduates knowing Full Stack. I prefer Full Stack cause its more interesting to get the whole picture, and Database Architecture isn't that interesting but also is not that difficult.
In the end Front End is more interesting to me, but it's important to know both until you get to a position where you can specialize. Makes troubleshooting much easier because if there is an issue "outside your scope" then you can just fix it yourself.

Backend Go here, I think there are no easy things, but rather what you like more. I consider both backend and frontend interesting when you are allowed to design stuff
