Peaky blinders is the definition of style over substance, the actual story always just boils down to tommy so smart, he outsmart the bad guy without showing the intricacies of how he did so.
sopranos has a visible change in a approach, themes and styles throughout the seasons.
breaking bad is a more sound and round product.

Season 1 and season 5 of BB are so different it's actually insane.
Of course this is because the show gets more serious as it progresses due to Walt slipping ever deeper into being a terrible person, but even then, season 1 was almost like a black-comedy whilst season 5 was very much a pure drama. I enjoy the tonal shift a lot, but one cannot say that the show maintains consistency within this department.

GOT had that in the first 1-4 or 5 seasons. After that it was nothing but a disaster in every department save the CGI.
notice that people still talk about BrBa and Sopranos and content being produced.
GoT on the other hand nobody talks about. the only thing you hear about is "supercut of the worst season 8 moments" etc.

1. There are some shows which has better finals, or better best episodes, like for me best episodes ever from all shows are episodes from M.D. House, but the reason why breaking bad is best show is that it has best concantrate of excellent episodes. Its hard to find even avarage episode in breaking bad.

i heckin love house but i guess yeah, i dont remember any episodes that were complete ass. not that there are that many episodes to begin with. i think it was a rare show driven by passion for the craft and not by profits purely.

There is no objectively best tv show... sopranos, wire and breaking bad/better call saul are all top notch and i don't care which one you consider your personal goat, but saying bb is overrated is just not true. it deserves all the credits

Sopranos and the wire are both probably better but breaking bad is still a wild ride and one of the best shows ever made.
Good tv really doesn't come that often. I heard in a video there are something like 2500 shows being made at any given time. Getting worked up about the placement of a show that is at worst top 10 is silly.
These are probably the three best American crime shows that have ever been made. We'll look back at them in 30 years the same way we look at the wire. If you are bored and want something similar that doesn't quite keep up the quality but is really good check out Ozark. Totally different region of the US but the same kind of vibe.

I would say that is a totally fair feeling.
But seriously check it out it's really good. The Ozarks is the backdrop to the show the same way NY/Baltimore and New Mexico is in the previously mentioned stuff in this thread. Just becomes a character.
I dunno I think all four are really great and are a step above stuff like the shield of sons of anarchy.
Ozark to me lacks polish and doesn't hide their story arcs very well like other shows.
In Ozark every season a random character appears at the start of the season and by the end that person dies, it's obvious it was going to happen on the first sight, Ruths dad and Ben for example, just a waste of time.
Also there are a few characters that fall out of character and don't act to their intelligence level because of the drama factor, Ruth and Jonah in particular don't act to their intelligence, it's a plot hole.
It's a great show by todays standards which isn't very high, 7/10.

I think the reason for that is that not many of these people (mostly the younger generations) even watched sopranos, so they have nothing to compare breaking bad to.

I would say the first 4 seasons of GoT are actually better but Breaking Bad finishes about as strong as you can.
The Sopranos has a weaker ending then Breaking bad as well imo.

i actually loved the sopranos ending and it perfectly sums up the sopranos.
throughout the show i just kept getting shocked.
like for example when adriana was snitching to the feds, i knew she was gonna get whacked but didnt see it coming when it actually happened. same with jackie junior, he just gets clipped all of a sudden and ur left shocked. the ending was great i thought.

As a general rule I just hate fade to black. I get what they were trying to communicate as well I just thinking fading to nothing is a terrible way to end anything in a visual medium.
But a lot of people agree with you so fair enough.
overrated af but nostalgia is making people think its good, cuz they saw the show 10 years ago, and they have good memories with it, if it was released today it wouldnt even make it to the top 1000

For me they're all good shows, but Twin Peaks is my clear standout.
Don't know its overrated or not but definately Sopranos and the Wire are far better than BB in every aspect
Breaking bad is the "best" because it was the first popular tv show in the new age era when everyone had access to internet etc.....before that we only had funny sitcoms like seinfield and friends
I think breaking bad is definitely one of the greatest, but the fanbase are meat riders

The truth about Breaking Bad is that its Bad in its first 3 seasons and its very good in season 4 & 5. Idk how tf this makes it the GOAT. On the other hand, In the medievel genre you have GoT, Vikings, TLK, and Spartacus; out of these, GoT had everything good about it except for the ending, Vikings had everything good about it except Ragnar's death, TLK is extremely GOATed even the word "goat" isn't enough for it whereas Spartacus was also a very good show.
If you don't like the genre, you have BCS, Banshee better than BB in the crime genre, it's that S1MPLE!

I watched the 1st 5 episodes of Breaking Bad and didn't like it at all.
It's not a serious drama, it's kinda silly. But it tries to be funny but is terrible NA humour.
Nothing has come close to Band of Brothers since imo.

Band of Brothers i watched, then the pacific - a friend of mine suggested. I honestly didnt find anything good about it. I wouldnt say its bad, but its just a regular show in my view.
The Sopranos is just over the top. Plus theres that Extra by Ricky Gervais, that is some funny shit.

It's important to know that Band of Brothers is very accurately recreated from real life. It's based on a book by a famous historian. It's not exaggerated or over dramatized. Also the clips from the interviews with the real guys at the start and end of each episode remind you of that and makes it very emotional to me, on a level I can't get from something fictional.
To me that make's it very far from a regular show.
The Pacific is fictional which is why it's not held anywhere near the same regards.
Never heard of trailer park boys... Is it just a comedy? Or is there more into it?

No, when it came out it was basically a revolution in the ,,series business", no show had ever been so famous and succesful prior to that. If breaking bad hadnt been made as well as it had been then stuff like stranger things, vikings, wednesday, punisher or whatever series with big budget you like watching would have never existed.
The script was amazing
The main 5 actors of Gus, Hank, Jesse, Walter, Mike were amazing
The plot was amazing
And together it was a magnificent journey watching it.
Just the fact that it has won 92 awards (Production, individual performances, etc) including emmys, golden globes, ... says that it was next-level shit, now when we have hundreds of decent shows on netflix and hbo and other platforms so we dont really appreciate it but if you watched it when it was coming out then MAN OH MAN IT WAS STUNNING
