4? only blame and device mate. Other 2 are literal bots. Looks I used to hate glaive during the astralis era as well but not considering him the GOAT or at least in the conversation is dumb. Also device and the new player buzz literally joined the team like in December so give them time.

i can understand from a specific pov why gla1ve is overrated in your eyes but if you win 4 majors and lead the team to being the best ever, not to mention being one of the few igls who can frag well enough to make the HLTV top 20 (in 2018) it is hard to be overrated.

He had slump but he can get better. What I see in his playstyle is thst often he wanna take initiative by force instead of brain. But aimwise he definitely good fir igl. And the gvuy who made thread is dumb. Chopper is bith good fragger and good igl last year spirit had good placements in importsnt tournaments. U cant go far without decent igl as u can see even navi is weak without igl when they have top coach and top players.

Even if u take allcs glaive is above karrigan with just majors alone without including other tournaments. Karrigan is good igl tho no disagreeing there. But 4 majors noone reached that yet Nd dont forget karrigan was kicked from tsm/astralis because he wasnt that good igl back then and also was making bit plays often like non pro player.

Im calm not my fsult u like to assume shit. And I know past but its completely unrelated as esports now and then are different. Back then it was like a hobby for pros now is a job. Also now competition is much higher. And the game plays completely different just idea is same. And if u talk about past karrigsn is nobody still there when there is HeatoN markeloff and many other legendary players. Karrigsn only became good igl not thst msny years ago before he was trash. But kudos to him on not giving up and proving he can do it.

But it all start on some point. 20y forward there will be better igl then glaive. Back in the day there was pro players but u had to make so much work to earn enough. There is legendary players but not as karrigan who still can compete as he can after everything happened. And i get your point too but its still stupid to pull everything in the past down to toilet. Would pretty much be a personality clash. Boombl4 fit well in that navi team, because he could handle it

True also boomich wasnt the brain of igl just thst hes playstyle and Ggressive fast entrying fit them so well. Now they dont have dedicated entry who can do what he did and leave others do their jib. Jnow I see bit or simple and etc entry which theyy do better in cluthing and etc. Boomich was decdnt mid round caller or great space maker which they lack now. Simple is obvs better at clutching but he can entry but now he cant have full potential when navi is dysfunctional.

First of all zeus had 1.03 rating at the major, and we are back at the discussion of igls rating which is dumb af. Secondly is that you miss the part where zeus basically locked the whole squad for a couple of weeks at a bootcamp and made them train their ass off before the major which paid off. And then when he left the team gambit dissapeared with all their carries.
Stop undermining igls role in a team when they bottom frag. And after they get kicked off the team i'm sure ur the first one to cry on the hltv about that

Also lists a couple of events that had mostly tier 2 teams. Omiting all the events they bombed out which were the majority by a long shot. And elegaue major they didn't even make it to the playoffs lul. They weren't the same team after zeus left and after a lot of strugling eventually disbanded.

four of those events, Malmö, Oakland, Marseille, New York were all elite Intel Grand Slam events btw, and no they were the same team after Zeus left, results speak for themselves, cuz the main reason they won the Major was because of Hobbit and especially AdreN insanely peaking (he had like 1.29 stats for both Majors that year). Zeus was just an ordinary player

People only mention karrigan, Aleksib because they are more known lol
especially karrigan who never played for underdogs. This is just funny to read when people say that FaZe had a great year because of karrigan. They either dont watch their games at all or too delusional to see that FaZe is basically a "go-kill" team. They have 0 tactics since forever. It has always being a very aim-based team. And if you replace karrigan with basically any top IGL FaZe would still be as great as they are now and probably better since karrigan has the worst individual skill after HooXi
cadiaN has great players too, yeah, sure. But look where they were a few years ago. Look at their calls and playstyle compared to FaZe. Look at cadiaN as an individual as well. They came from nothing. And this wouldnt be possble without a world-class IGL. Same goes to nafany as well. Jame is kinda new to IGLing but he is very smart and has an interesting view on the game and how it should be played, very interetsing decisions, reads the game really well. Karrigan is basically the only option for most EU teams since they dont know any IGL besides him and Aleksib. Any danish or russian-speaking squad would always have a better IGL if you tried to make the best possiible international team with karrigan vs danish or russian lineup

Is not always titles is also how consistent placements u get the further u go the more consistent u are and the more chances u will wom eventually and also gives ideas if any changes or adjustments needtk be done. If u got 2nd 3rd places is better then 5-8 and etc u auakify more. Better prize. Better motivation and more invites and more factors.
Yeah, they came 2d at BLAST Finals and 3-4th at their first ever major in Stockholm same year people were crying about them being "onliners". Both times lost to NaVi who were basically unstoppable. So if not the NaVi-era, they could have won much more. They were basically the second best team in Stockholm, they would easily take the trophy if not NaVi. Same happened to NaVi in 2018-2020 when there was a team called Astralis
And they needed much less time than NaVi to achieve such things, even though NaVi had the best sniper and CIS riflers at that time

Alex had vitality (seems like some internal conflict made him leave) then an online-era c9 team who gives a fuck about that team... and then fnatic which he did kind of mess up but they were never going to be a top team.

After NBK left g2 who had mixed success and were worse without him seems like he never got another real opportunity.

aleksib only ever really failed with G2. He made that og team better than what was expected and they only lacked in firepower, which he made the most out of.
apex made a team that really shouldn't be able to compete on tier 1 on paper. In 2020, he brought a team with rpk and misutaa to number 1 briefly, consistently top 3 at least.
bro you do understand chrisJ did the exact same thing as chopper except for the fact that chopper ACTUALLY plays with random noobies. ropz, oskar and sunny all made the top 20 list and were all considered great players.
dazed: He was a decent igl at the time and people give him about the credit he deserves and no, the NA scene didn't die because they lost him, swag and steel were greater losses.

Yes absolutely but zywoo with a completely dysfunctional team of tier 2 talent would not win tier 1 trophies year on year. You can't take everything vitality has ever done and say it was all about zywoo all along
Dazed was a good IGL but Steel was the real loss IMO.
Well Swag was the real loss but that's a different discussion. Just imagine 2016 Liquid with Swag instead of Adren or 2017 C9 with Stew, Auti and Swag.
It's impossible to say what would have happened but it's almost certain the trophy cabinet would be bigger.

Aleksib, Stewie2k, JT, Hampus, BlameF ( especially in Astralis. He is shot caller on Mirage and except BlameF himself. No one had positive rating on that map. Last I checked Xyp Gla1ve was under 0.90. Farlig around 0.70 and k0nfig [when playing] 0.95)

Zeus major force was the same as with Karrigan, people just loved to play under him. But he was never tactically smart and often played with emotions, rather than Karrigan.

i only disagree with chopper and apEX being over-rated
chopper is really simple, he does not have a lot of "tactics" what he does have is incredible defaults on every T side, Spirits dust2 wasn't feared for nothing as it was tough to break them. and is impressive at conditioning the enemy team. makes it a lot easier to call a mid-round knowing that the CT's will eventually have to shake up their defense (aggressive or passive)
apEX style of igl-ing does not work when he is working with players like Magisk and dupreeh who clearly want to approach the game in a different way. taking map control slowly, grind down utility from the CT's. freezing and playing by the numbers.
apEX was good at calling a very reactive style with the french team since it was very simple and easy to follow for players like misutaa and Kyojin, and you had shox and zywoo who knew how to adapt to whats being called. you can maybe even argue that apEX not speaking in french is making his calling worse. he also gave up all his roles to dupreeh and spinx and is playing a whole new role for him

Well he was in action with Titans last year and before that in 2021 with South, both projects were shit. MSL should become a coach or something, i just don't see him adapting to the new meta, new maps on top of that he's not good at shooting people anymore.
