Sometimes i dream that i am awake and lying in bed, but i can't move. I try my hardest to move a muscle and after a while i wake up.
While this happens i strongly believe that i am awake. The dream feels extremely real. When i wake up i realized that i had the exact same sleeping position that i dreamt of. It's like dreaming but being aware of your environment.

I had it once a few weeks ago. It only lasted about a minute or two but was pretty scary until I caught hold of myself and realised what was happening. I didn't see ghosts or anything like that but after I was able to move again I wasn't sure if I was awake or dreaming still.

Sometimes i am unable to move or wake up. But then i realize its just a dream and it just goes away.

Sometimes I think that I dreamed that I could not move.
But supposedly sleep paralysis is that you see yourself sleeping and you can't move.

I've had it before when I was in my late teens / early 20s.
All I remember was waking up and not being able to move. At the time I had no clue "sleep paralysis" was a thing and my anxiety would go into 1000% overdrive.
I didn't feel or see a 'presence'. The trick my anxiety played on me was making me think I wasn't breathing. Absolutely terrifying. Probably the things that's scared me most in my life.
Strangely it went away probably by the time I was 20 or 21.

I had it happen once. It was when I was detoxing from drugs. I woke up with with a shadow demon at the side of my bed and I was unable to move or scream. It looked like a man made out of shadow, pure darkness, watching over me. I was fully awake and trying to call for help for about 5-10 minutes. Eventually the rest of my brain turned on and I was able to get out of the room. I slept on the couch in the main room the rest of the night and had a nightmare where my father tried to kill me and when I called him out as the demon I saw in my sleep paralysis he said I was right. Then he transformed into my best friend and I started stabbing him to get away, but the stabs did nothing other than make him laugh. Then as he choked me out, I woke up. I've never had anything like that happen before or since then. Not sure if it was "real" or just my subconscious mind stressing in my sleep over the encounter I had earlier. Either way, it was very vivid and something unlike anything I have experienced before-- including taking psychedelics.

Happens pretty often when I sleep with some dim light in the room and on my back. I hate it, I feel dread every time but never had some bitch choking me, maybe because I'm not scared of ghosts and shit.

woke up in the night, couldnt move at all, couldnt speak, anything... and then i saw that "shadow" watching me, started panicking, tried to scream, call my parents, etc but couldnt do anything, could just move my eyes, and look at that shadow which was also just staring at me.. didnt feel like a dream at all
bad experience, was scared falling asleep the next days/weeks
happened a few times during that period then never happened to me again.
and no, you dont want to experience this
2023-01-25 00:31
never had that but i do have sleep lazyness, i wake up and i lay in warm bed for 1-2 hours and i fuck up all my plans :(
2023-01-25 00:25
I had it once, I opened my eyes but couldn’t move and I felt this weird thing that was choking me to the point where it was unbearable, just generally it felt like I couldn’t breathe. Then I started moving my finger tips and then rest of my body to get out of it. I did not see anything though, luckily.

when i was 7 i saw satan at the edge of my bed and no matter how hard i tried to reach to my lamp to turn it on i couldnt

Happened so many time to me that i became desensatized
now im like "ok lets just wait"
2023-01-25 00:52
used to have it quite often, at first it was terrifying, eventually i was able to recognize it by not being able to get up or turn in my bed even when trying my hardest, after that it was still scary but usually i just closed my eyes and it stopped eventually. most of the time i saw a shadowy figure somewhere in my room, the scariest one was when the figure started climbing into my bed once, screamed in my sleep and scared the fuck out of gf next to me LOL. havent had it in ages now though
2023-01-25 00:56
I don't have paralysis but I do have parasomnia. I often scream or speak normally during my sleep, even my mother thought i was speaking to her lmao. I also do swear a lot.

one of my friends had it once a while ago
i never have, the closest thing to that i had was waking up and for some reason my arm was paralyzed for a lil bit, scared the shit out of me cuz it felt like my hand was super heavy cuz i couldnt move it, but after a few secs it was ok
2023-01-25 02:02
ive had it 3 or so times when i was a teen, first one was scary but it didnt choke me or anything just some shock and wierd high frequency vibration feeling in the body. then i kinda got used to it and some time i even turned on a side and was like yeah babe do me a massage. id suggest to never sleep on ur back
2023-01-25 02:14
wtf? Never heard of this in my life and so many of you have experienced it... wonder what causes it
2023-01-25 02:26
i just let the demon get me.
2023-01-25 02:31
Yeah I have it sometimes, its a real nightmare. It tends to happen when I am hungover especially.
2023-01-25 02:48

2023-01-25 03:38
I had one where someone was breathing down my neck and started strangling me. For some reason, I can quite literally just will myself awake tho. I don't really panic, I understand what's going on lol
2023-01-25 03:42
My most fond memories of sleep paralysis was me sleeping facing the wall and the wall starts to grow a disfigured face, so i tried to kiss it while blinking a lot. It then turned to a spot on the wall and i woke up.
2023-01-25 03:45
I have it everyday, but its never the same thing. Idk how it works that much, but i suspect i maybe prone to schizofrenia. But its fun :D
2023-01-25 04:00
I have had it multiple times, it was scary at first but after the third time I just found it cool. I have a certain list of conditions that I know if they happen then I'll have sleep paralysis. Since I've been getting good sleep for a while now I haven't had it anymore.
2023-01-25 04:05
i've had one
but since i knew what was happening i could control myself and i was calm, so i fell asleep, just close your eyes and try to sleep
2023-01-25 04:06
i have it sometimes, but its been a while since last time. Usually happens on weekends, when i wake up at the middle of the night or early, so caround the later stages of dreaming, known as REM (rapid eye movement).
First time i had it was very scary, mostly because of lack of control of breathing, so you are not sure if you are breathing fine. With more experiences you get used to the feeling and know that forcing movements without success is what makes you desperate, so you shouldnt brute force the movement until you get it, you have to stay calm and try a little effort, if you see it doesnt work wait a bit, try to feel your breathing then try again and eventually it stops. Its hard to have a good notion of time, but its safe to say it never lasted more than 1 min, it could go from a few seconds to 20, 30 seconds max.
Not always, but sometimes there is the paralysis + vivid nightmare (you may call it night terror) and these are the worst ones, because your mind is more confused, so less likely to act rationally and calmly, and you cant move your eyes too much, so sometimes you can only see a part of the scary entity.
2023-01-25 04:46
3-4 times a month i'm already used to it . just don't panic . breath and wiggle your toes you will wake up eventually
2023-01-25 05:05
I had sleeping paralysis pretty often in my childhood. It's cool
2023-01-25 13:29
I've expirienced that shit while being a child, i couldn't move and that was pretty much it. Since then i didn't have sleep paralysis at all.
2023-01-25 13:33
i had it few times, i always tried to make some sounds so someone can wake me up because i feel like i can't move or talk
2023-01-25 13:33
I've had it a few times before, it's only scary if you expect it to be, but that's with a lot of things to be honest...
2023-01-25 14:19
havent experience that, but it is scary as f
2023-01-25 14:19
Never had it. I don't have dreams i often accidently supress my feelings or just don't think about anything no idea why. I do try to focus and try atleast once to have one it doesn't work. But from what i remember you can actually change your sleeping paralysis into good thing if you just close your eyes and focus deeply about your surroundings, hear them touch them and shape them into what you like. In that way you can change sleeping paralysis into Lucid Dream
2023-01-25 14:20
I actually had an episode a week ago, i went for a nap at about 2 pm and after a while i kinda woke up but I couldn't move my body, and also I could talk, I tried to scream for help lol
It was kinda fucked up and I panicked, but I basically "went back to sleep" and after I woke up 2nd time I was ok
But tbh I was scared of going to sleep that night :))
