People pointing to oSee's stats and calling for him to be kicked don't understand that he is playing a support AWP role. This playstyle was pioneered by Farlig while on Astralis and while oSee is not as good at it as Farlig was Liquid is a better team. Farlig was only enabling blamef but oSee is helping Yekindar, Elige and NAF to carry Liquid. I guarantee a star AWPer would not work in Liquid so of they can't get Farlig then they should stick with oSee.

Being a passive AWPer doesn't make you a support AWPer, very few "support AWPers" have been in tier 1 CS and an example of that would be nitr0 in 2019 Liquid. The ones that come to mind are also Fifflaren occasionally on the old NiP and Seang@res in C9 before ShaZam was added

Every single awper does this. Check flash assist stats of every awper in the scene, you will find out that m0nesy is a support awper by that criteria.

Didn't say a support player needs to be bad they just tend to be worse. And in an aggressive team it is harder to play so he fitted well in the role. Simple as that. Support is a wide role.

Support awp doesn’t exist. AWPing is a easier role, period. Plenty of players “support awp” but you wouldn’t call them that because they are 100% better than oSee. Can you tell me why m0NESY does more supporting and is still 10 times the player oSee is?

Maden was the last piece but having hades kicked was bad but without spinx what can you do you need a star. ence will never work unless dycha becomes the new spinx. Aggressive team cannot win with a star awp.

hades didnt do it because he wanted to. he was insane online, lost confidence on LAN and ence didnt want to change him after the winter break and when he didnt improve it didnt make sense to kick him cuz the major was coming and they just made him a bit more supportive to enable everyone else

Even though this is a bait thread it is actually true, not the farlig part
I would agree the idea of a "support AWP" is kind of silly.
But it would be accurate to say that they don't feature oSee in the same way he played on Extra Salt or C9.
Luckily they have about a million chances in this tournament so they do have time to figure it out here. I would expect them to beat BiG pretty easily even diminished and that'll leave a real tough game against Vit or Heroic. Heroic also looks shaky as hell. I have faith in the project generally but they need to get out of vacation mode and into CS mode.
Also no way Farlig is better then Osee. Osee didn't play well today but I've never seen him hit a sequence like osee did on overpass today.

I agree. Set him up to be dominant. Try and make this work for the rest of the major cycle. It's not ike they really have a choice.

tbf tho a lot of teams are just missing a good awper, very few have awpers that can compete with zywoo and s1mple, nowadays more and more teams are finding academy league awpers to compete but still rare to find the monesys and zywoos out there, mouz tried with torzi and he ended up dogshit

The problem is that these awpers aren't being set up as explosive powerful players but rather slow and device like playstyle. It doesn't work because these players aren't like device. Lucky, Jugi, Farlig, now oSee, wiz, saffee and many more. The difference between Degster and oSee simply is the confidence. Now cadiaN is also taking charge a lot and see how powerful of an awper he is.
Support AWP players are more or less out of meta, and back in the day they were only present because a team had a strong rifle core but needed someone to pick up the sniper for certain maps. Team liquid do not need someone in that kind of role, just how every single team in the top 30 don't have anyone attempting that.

i think the point that is being made is that osee whiffs hard in most games, its not the fact that hes playing support, hes just bad. he is playing a more supporting role, but hes not winning fights he should be. Jame is a support awper, and he posts 1.2 rating, osee has been posting 0,9 .

Support AWPing is real and there's always one or two teams in tier1-tier2 cs that use it, i would agree that it isn't as aesthetically pleasing as having a real awper, but if the igl has decided that that's how the team must organize, it's probably for the best.

Support AWP is a role that exists only in the minds of fans when their team has a bad AWPer.
Everyone is calling it the wrong term, it's just passive vs active awpers. This is defined by the number of peeks and forward aggro plays by an awper. Compare how little Osee peeks or plays forward positions vs Monesy or Degster.
