Longevity shouldnt even considered to be a valuable part of that debate. Players back in the days didnt have that medical support and effecient training + defenders were allowed to tackle hard. Nowadays offensive players got more protected and its easier for them to score because of the interpretation of the rules. You would have had a point if Messi and CR7 would be the exceptions, but they are a lot of other worldclass player who are 35-40 years old aswell.

The rules are not even difficult lol, the problem are with the sport is that there is no real game flow, there are too many breaks (and ads). American Football is very popular and has a huge viewership, so it's clearly deserved to be in the list, no matter if you like it or not my friend.
You can't compare Boxers "in their prime 1v1" because weight classes exist, so that argument makes no sense unfortunately.

Statistics dont tell the full story of this guys. Ronaldo has had the worse situation for their full carreers, and the way he full carried failed teams like portugal, Juve and last year's united to relevance is imo way more impressive than a WC with one of the best teams or a bunch of goals with a superteam in france.

You clearly googled all of these and posted the top entry for each one.
Football (soccer) = Depends on the era and position. Messi can't defend or Play GK. He is one of the top forwards of all time, but he did it with a great supporting cast everywhere he's played. There are much more prolific players who actually had to carry poor teams.
2. NBA (basketball) = Depends on the Era and Position. Jordan had it all but he isn't the greatest shooter of all-time and he isn't the best defender of all time.
3. NFL (handegg) = Depends on the Era and Position. Brady can't run the ball, or catch the ball or play defense. Peyton Manning was a much better passer.
4. F1 (racing) = the goat is the car
5. UFC (mma) = Jon Bones Jones for sure
6. Tennis = Nadal......
7. NHL (hockey) = Best forward yes. Greatest player, who knows?
8. Golf = wake me up when its over
9. Cricket = not sure if a sport
10. MLB (baseball) = Babe Ruth maybe in his era, but he'd be nowhere near the top 10 in this current era.

Djokovic > Nadal > Federer. Positive records against both, most weeks as top1, and so many other records, soon will be tied to Nadal on GS numbers and would be past him if he wasn't banned from competing or wrongfully disqualified (hitting that linesman) which would never happen to fan favourite federer. Only thing Federer has is most popular tennis player can't dispute that.

I would have loved to see how well Gretzky would have played his whole career without Kurri. After all Gretzky achieved 4 Stanley cups and every single one when Kurri was in his line. Kurri had 5, so was Gretzky really that amazing? Not saying that he would have been bad or anything just wondering.

Tom Brady is actually the most overrated player in all of sports. Actual barely above average talent graced with the perfect defense, system, special teams, and luck. I have absolutely no doubt somebody like fucking Matt Stafford or Joe Flacco would win a handful of rings with the teams hes been on.
