I Miss Old T.Os..
Spain Sneakers_
I miss StarLadder, EPICENTER, ELEAGUE, MLG (not as much as i barely remember their Major).. even PGL hopefully PGL stays in the circuit, so many of them used to have their premier, tier 1 events.. having a completely controlled circuit by partner leagues and programs like ESL and BLAST isn't ideal.. more over when these partnership leagues dont even have relegations or promotions to such league, and its all based of buying the spot. Thought CS:GO was about the open circuit nature, and how we blew up thanks to that.. Shits turning into the most closed, elitist esports there will be in all of the esports and games.

CSGO was so much better with them, NA CS needs them to come back for our tier 2 scene

yeah, they wont return tho, MLG is out or sold out by blizzard, and eleague doesnt do events since a few years ago. I believed EX-MLG staff made their own esports T.O, but idk what is up. doing HALO events or something.

yeah back when ESL/IEM called them by their name and not IEM "summer, or spring".. CS Summit was so good to just chill and see high quality CS, i mean so many of these T.Os used to be "independent" and made the scene flurish as they had their own qualifier, spot in the calendar, etc.. now it is what it is xD, none of them is around anymore. Just few small T.Os that dont have the same impact.

for me cs summit was good because it was way more casual and you could actually see the personality of the players in interviews and when they let them cast

I know I'm biased, but give me one tournament ESL runs which a team cannot qualify for through the open circuit? Teams also have a pathway to all BLAST tournaments except for the initial group stages EPL is very much linked to ECL, and all the other ESEA leagues, so there are your promotions and demotions for most of the scene. I'll be honest, I don't care/know much about money, but I think the partnerships are the reasons the scene can even operate at this level. The circuit is nowhere near elitist when you compare it to league of legends, or even Valorant now.

Yes it's true that all ESL tourneys have ways to participate, but it still is not entirely based on merits, EG for example scraped by for several seasons in EPL withou being nearly competitive

I agree, but then again it's probably also about commercial viability

oh yeah, as long as viewership works as it does, the big orgs are more beneficial for any TO than competitive fairness. The fans don't really want a fair competition, they tune in most for the big orgs so it is best for TOs to make sure that the big orgs play at their tourneys

because they are BORING AF and trash invite only almost
2023-01-27 23:52
Probably because there are 6 teams with 2-3 times repeated match-ups none of which means anything since there are even more 1-2 events to qualify for that. All of this clownfiesta show for average degenerate viewer so you eventually get the same 6 teams in the final tournament. Blast was insane and good back when it just appeared. Too much Blast nowadays imo.

Yeah you really hit the nail on the head. It is extremely stale because there's no good storylines and it really is always the same fuckin teams

Honestly i liked the 2019 major somewhat. But Blast is actually my favorite. They always produce good quality tournament (sometimes with some weird formats...) and now that we can see that all the old GOD like casters and analysts are coming back then the paris major will for sure become one of the best majors i believe.
2023-01-27 23:40
LoL is elitist not csgo
2023-01-27 23:56
I really dislike blast format and have no interest in watching it. its like the cs version of the european superleague, meaningless matches. no thanks
2023-01-27 23:57
+1 i think having only Blast and esl killing or gonna kill csgo pro scene
2023-01-27 23:59
make elisa expo great!
