EG best funded org?
 |
United States SuperbTrash
Idk how it is sustainable, EG has 4 csgo rosters (main, black, white, gold) which is a lot, but then in valorant their main roster has 9 players + a womens team. They also have an insane amount of coaching staff. Also, you can assume they are paying everyone decent paychecks.

Probably true

Maybe, liquid likely has better financials though

From what I have heard from Thorin, Kassad, Maui, Richard lewis etc and on the four horseman American orgs seem to be able to just throw away an endless amount of venture capitalism and if the org is not losing money then it's not taking risks that could help them win big in the future and I'm willing to take their word on that being the case.

This is the way you make money as a venture capitalist in general. To be fair to VC's they've spent the last 20 years winning huge on bets like these.

Most CS orgs don't make money and considering how bad EG is at doing anything and the amount of staff they have I very much doubt t any of the money spent on them has been returned in anyway what so ever.

Of course the money hasn't been returned. lol No one is making any real money in esports. They just need one of these orgs to hit. This is how tech companies are started.

But none of these orgs are If anything it's about to get worse with the recession hitting, Esport's best chance was the online era to show what they could do. A lot of areas found massive gains, same with like Netflix and stuff but coming out of it into a global recession the money is not there they're pissing in the wind it will be years before Esports even gets back to being where it was in like 2019 and we can already see it with teams picking up absolute garbage just so they don't have to pay them as much. even massive venture capitalist projects like ESG are losing funding in the hundreds of millions possibly billions.

Bro it's not a lot of areas that found massive gains. An entire economy has been created over the last thirty years and tech companies are still the best bet for anyone going forward. A recession isn't going to change that. There's nothing to suggest the fundamentals of the American model is in any kind of real danger. There is no real window on esports. It's very likely we have multiple iterations of the games we watch currently to go before we get to what will become the next MLB or NFL. Hell the control inputs for the way we play these games very likely will change before that happens.

Sure, but none of them have so many people signed per game.

EG bought a couple of teams in order to somehow win and sell them to other organizations, but it's unlikely that anyone will take them because those teams are worthless, they don't win or show any results, and EG goes into the minus.

their sponsorships on paper are amazing, wolverhampton, HPE, twitch, monster, etc are probably a nice chunk of their funding. EG is owned by peak6 investments, who deal in fintech and other areas

I mean, EG is a MASSIVE org. Obviously their CS team hasn’t been good in the last few years, but they have/had notable teams in Valorant, League, DOTA 2, CoD, etc,
2023-01-28 19:58
it isnt sustainable NA LoL scene has been doing this for a long time and the bubble is bursting because NA orgs are kinda stupid

It's definitely sustainable just maybe not for EG. VC's are trying to find the org that will become the Yankees of esports on a long enough time scale. It's very likely in 20 or 30 years only one or two of these organizations on either side of the Atlantic will be around. But the people invested in that company are going to get so rich it's going to make your eyes bleed.

This isn't stupid you guys just don't really understand what's going on.

yeah i have no idea how the hell EG is still around. it is common knowledge that esports orgs are not sustainable but theyre maintaining 4 CSGO teams and theyre even only somewhat good in their local regions/demographics

Most esports org aren't profitable.... Astralis financials ain't nothing like they used to be and FaZe biggest esports brand in US isn't profitable either. All have investors that are banking that in the future it will pay off..
