So im gonna be getting a new pc soon, budget is 100k denars (1625.17 euros) Im looking for something like a intel i7 or i9 10-12th gen, rtx 3000 series, at least 16gb ram (probably 32), and at least 1 TB space. Now im not too smart when it comes to building pc's, and parts that work well together, so im not gonna be building it myself, im just gonna choose the specs, and i have 1 question: What nvidia/intel specs are good in 2023 (for this budget)? U can also tell me ur pc if its similar to this and how it runs :D (i have exactly 100k denars and i have to spend it all on PC hardware only, if i dont i lose every denar i havent spent, so im just taking advantage of this money.)

I think you should maybe wait no thinking hardware and instead consider what you wanna use the machine for. Like say if for gaming and no real heavy lifting doing say 3D rendering work or video editing, then a mid range CPU is fine since the GPU will be the bottleneck and games don't really use more than 6 cores. Also does your budget just have to cover the PC or is it also for monitors, mouse, keyboard... if so then I highly recommend prioritizing a good monitor, since after all it matters every moment you use the computer.

thats a good point, i can buy monitors and shit with the budget but i already have 2 and i have a nice mouse and keyboard, maybe only my keyboard needs an upgrade so i will think about that otherwise all i do on the pc is either play games or code, so thats why i want a nice gaming pc, i need a pc that can run games made like 6-10 years from now or smth, so it might be good to go for ddr5 ram instead of ddr4 also

If I was to build a gaming machine right now, then here is what I would do. 1. Go for one based on the AMD AM5 platform and get a modest CPU like the 7600. AMD has promised their AM5 platform will see new CPU till at least 2025 and maybe longer, so this means the option of upgrading the CPU really easy in2-3 years (they did the same with their AM4 platform). 2. Forget about buying a GPU for ray tracing now, since only the very fastest will do that with good enough frame rate. Instead I would go for the best non-RT performance within my budget, a likely contender would then be a 6800 or 6800 XT or maybe a 3070. AMD is bringing out their x3D CPU's for the AM5 platform in two weeks or so, it may be worth waiting and see what they bring before buying. Also on ram, the fast DDr5 is expensive right now, so it may be worth sticking with just 16 for now. Also do look into what is the sweet spot with the CPU you choose, no reason to buy something that doesn't bring performance.

i like the thing u said about the am5 platform, cuz as u said its very easy to upgrade that since they will release their next one in 2025, but im just kinda scared of going for amd since im used to intel, although it shouldnt cause an issue, i would still prefer a nvidia gpu though. and yeh for the ram i might not go for ddr5 since it is expensive as u said, i can just go for some high quality ddr4 ram instead, my pc rn has ddr3 lmao, and its pretty good for what it is, so ddr4 shouldnt be an issue for the future actually

Predicting the future is the hardest. I don't think you should be scared of going with AMD, in a way their CPU's are actually more traditional now since with Intel their CPU's come with two types of cores. But you can get good CPU's from either company, it is just that with Intel an upgrade down the line will mean swapping out the motherboard and CPU - which then also means a likely reinstall of Windows. I did the thing with my current machine, when I build it I went with a Ryzen 3600 and then this summer I swapped it for a 5800x3D and doing so took 10-15 minutes.

ye thats what pisses me off about intel, and why i havent upgraded yet, i checked some videos and apparently amd has better performing cpu's so i might actually go for amd, i will ask that dude that i know about it, and he can help me out as well

Sounds like a good plan. Nothing beats having the support of a knowledgeable dude at hand. Building a PC isn't magic and you can find good video guides, but the help from someone with experience is always handy - likely he will also have suggestions on where it is good to order parts.

i thought about amd, but since i dont know shit about their hardware, i dont wanna risk it, i hate it when i end up buying something new, and then i realize that i made a bad purchase since i didnt completely understand what i was buying

its the best budget cpu + amd is absolutely fine nothing wrong with it even though yes nvidia IS better, it literally doesnt matter. i had an amd card before and yes the software was ass but i had 0 problems with it. some people complain about driver issues but they are most likely subhumans. dont worry about making a bad purchase because all pc components nowadays are good. a setup like r5 5600x and a rtx2060s would be nice and would last u a while

pls don't buy a prebuilt one :( building a pc by yourself is actually pretty easy. there are tons of yt tutorials if you need one. it's super fun and the satisfaction when you start up ur brand new pc is nice.

ah, alright prebuilt ones are more expensive. i've seen people who bought them and had problems with it after a very short amount of time. could be bad luck but i feel like it's a bad omen to buy one xD

ye ive seen some shit like that too, it is risky
2023-01-29 23:41
Is prebuild the same as choosing the parts and having them build it for you? I have almost always bought like this and I didn't have problems, sometimes they have a discount for all the components and there is also the issue of warranty, if they do something wrong when building it, then there is a warranty

Good question, haven't even thought about that. Prebuilt for me is just when you order a pc where the hardware is set in stone pretty much and you pay the price.

Remember that you can buy a Windows license code for like 10-15$. It is totally legit, you just don't a box and will have to create a USB install media using a Microsoft website.

Don’t do it man Building a gaming pc will lead you into a dark hole, a hole that will be hard to escape. Find joy in hard work and passion. Study literature or physics or math. Ponder the historical events of our world find joy in reading as a leisure. Don’t let technology take advantage of you. Become closer with nature and transcendentalism.
