Level of female cs
frgd |
Angola HAWESOMEDOWN
Female pros explained: There are players that are relatively bad mechanically but gifted otherwise as IGLs etc similar to HUNDEN (prime example ramziiN - AWPer and IGL for CPH Shieldmaidens). Then there are really strong players like BiBiAhn, ANa and gfi that are accually really good at the game and shit over 99% of the female scene and would do okay in tier 3 teams etc. And then there is remaining 95% of players that love the game and are dedicated, but just lack the skills. They try their best and love the game and I think that is admirable, but most of them are just not really good. Example JKranny who is a level 6 that started playing about 2 years ago, she just qualified to the biggest female tournament of the year by getting carried hard (0.66kd in NA qualifiers). No hate but this should NOT be possible and it makes the rest of the scene look really bad since even the "bad" players are usually super good compared to average players. TL:DR the level between female players and teams is so huge that you really cant compare them to eachother, since some of them are really good and some of them are literally level 6 etc... There are strong female teams and players that play good cs, but the majority are "weak" but dedicated. You cant point at individuals and say "she is good/bad and all other female players are like her". be civil

a better name for this thread would have been "female pros" now that I think about so mods feel free to change it, if its not too big of a bother :)

the best female pros are still getting dumpstered when they play vs tier 4 male teams

you missed the point, they do not have mechanically strong enough teams as a whole, try to perform well as as rifler for example when 4/5 of your team are goin 6/20. Reflect on your own games, how easy is it play when your team literally loses a site 10 rounds in a row without a single kill. "Then there are really strong players like BiBiAhn, ANa and gfi that are accually really good at the game and shit over 99% of the female scene and would do okay in tier 3 teams etc. And then there is remaining 95% of players that love the game and are dedicated, but just lack the skills." use the logic based on what I said: 1 player good enough for tier 3-4 and 4 players that are tier 1000 players vs 5 tier 3 players. Guess who is gonna win? If the female scene want to win they need to combine all the strong players in a single team.

There's a reason why tier 3 teams don't pick them up. And if you look at Ana's games vs male teams for example she is getting shit on just as much as her other teammates. Her level isn't even close to tier 3-4

depends 100% on what you define as tier 3, also it makes zero sense for ANY female player to join a non female team, since 99% of the time you will get paid less.

I can't imagine that any female team get's paid a substantial amount of money. Interpolating from the soccer leagues where female teams pay only a fraction of male teams, i can't imagine it being any different in csgo.

NA has less elo in the pool, if anything a level 6 NA is level 8 EU, a 2k elo NA is equal to a 2,5 or 3k elo in EU because elo transfers are just a lot less in NA for high elo players

idk i have never lost to a female player in csgo, i don't really follow the scene too much so can't say much on how consistent the level is only thing i know is that its much easier to earn money as a female since the bar is much lower

It is yes, but is that their fault? We should not send them hate for it. For example if you are paid more than you deserve in your IRL job is it your fault/problem? You 100% have lost to a female player and even a one that isint boosted, how would you know that a player on the enemy team is female if you do not even follow the scene? for context some female teams have beaten good teams, old CPH fe for example beat KOVA and AGO

I check profiles pretty much everytime i play the game, i have a habit of checking if people have cool skins so i end up checking their profiles during pauses/while dead so that gives a good information also on what kind of people they are and if they happen to be male/female since usually people like to create cool profiles or have a lot of text to read or some things that give out who they are im in no way hating them, its good if their scene grows, its just that there is a lot of work to be done and they need more actually active ones, sadly it seems most women are just playing the game for fun and don't really care for the pro scene compared to men which to be fair is understandable, the game can be a really long grind and toxic af which can end up making them lose interest faster. by not following the scene i meant that i don't really watch too many female pro/semi-pro games or follow many of their tournaments, i randomly do tend to find some streamers and know couple female players i have pracced against back in the day but overall i don't have too much knowledge compared to men since most games i watch are during events which hltv doesn't really have many female events to watch in a first place so it ends up being just watching men play
2023-01-30 10:52

for some reason the female players that I have pracced against rarely havee information that they are female in their profiles. Propably so less toxicity since some people are toxic because they are women and for no other reason. " by not following the scene i meant that i don't really watch too many female pro/semi-pro games or follow many of their tournaments, i randomly do tend to find some streamers and know couple female players i have pracced against back in the day but overall i don't have too much knowledge compared to men since most games i watch are during events which hltv doesn't really have many female events to watch in a first place so it ends up being just watching men play" What you said is totally reasonable and you seem to be a normal person in this discussion because usually people say "I do not watch them because they are female" instead of "I do not find them interesting" or " I only watch "good" counter-strike. On my "we should not send hate to them" was not directed at you bro, its overall advice ti everyone on this topic. Have a great day and can you rate my profile?
2023-01-30 11:04
You probably have and just didn't know they were a woman. According to online stats, like 30% of the player base is women. That feels high, but even if its like 5% and you've played a non-trivial amount of matches, you will have lost to a woman at some point.

For all that matters, I am strongly against female esports. They have no disadvantage unlike normal sports, so why the fuck divide it up into male and female. In most regular sports women are allowed to compete on male teams, or at least it used to be like this. The worst thing female teams can do to improve, is exactly what they are doing now: Competing against female only. I know they got battered by male PUGs and I what else, but that's no excuse, quite the contrary.

it's a tough question, because there was some incredible women chess players, but they all had situation where they had to stop, most likely due to peers pressure and social integration. It's not a question of "less brain" or whatever, it's just that we don't give them as much chances as we do for men. I'm not into feminism or whatever, I'm just for equality and equity, but girls are often put in a place where they have to choose between being a good mom and have a family/career or they can go full autistic in their lobby like we do,(spoiler, its very uncommon they dare going full autistic into something) but then we despise them 'cause they don't have the requirement to be a "good women" in society (no kids, no real jobs or studies, etc). Education is the key but people think it's twitter... Nonetheless, I also think that women nowadays kinda don't want to have anything to do with stuff like gaming or competition because it's kinda nerdy, and even tho its sorta trendy now to be nerdy, girls are either falling in traditionalism or far-left extremism. Thus, in pro-scene you only have gold diggers like pro-players' wife (sad nexa, sad kennys, sad niko, sad device, sad Boombl4, etc etc) who don't care about being with an ugly ahh dude because they got their money and they get fuarked by some randoms gymrat (me ? aiming someone famous ? I never would.) or you have kind girls who don't dare putting their balls on the table 'cause they dont grow like us and people around them belittle her cuz she's a girl.

It is not a problem with talent, but for competitve drive. Women are just less competitve than men in general. Judit polgar used to be top 10 in chess.

Since it's psychology it's soft science, which means there can be studies and arguments that goes either way. But if you look at it in a evolutionary perspective - to me it's pretty obvious, thousands of years mostly males have been put in situations where they have to think strategically and find quick solutions on the go. I don't know the correct terminology in English for it but it has to do about spacial awareness, to predict/visualize what will happen next and execute on that plan. For example in sports where males dominate because of strength and endurance it's not just that. Because if it was only the strength and endurance which was different it would be at the same level arguably from a tactical perspective. And for anyone who has watched the female sport version of pretty much anything it's not just the physicality that's different. It doesn't mean females aren't capable, it just means that due to genetics and evolution it's less likely that females would have the same talent to reach the same level as their male counterpart. The competitive drive as you mention is also developed naturally due to the same reasons where males have to compete for food, status and reproduction through thousands of years which again strengthens the need to be able to visualize what happens next. TLDR: It's normal and has nothing to do with either sex being less or better than the other, just evolution throughout history.

also forgot to add that the pool of women that play is substantially lower than men. Has to be 99-to-1 or worse. So if women go straight from mm into female teams, they don't join teams with players that have abundance of experience playing against better teams.

yeah the variance seems really high
2023-01-30 16:10
Yeah that’s actually a very reasonable and well worded take, unfortunately these are quite rare when talking about female CS
2023-01-30 16:14
the variance was pretty high back in the early days of CS too, it'll probably settle as the scene develops. I just hope it doesn't become more about the personalities than the competition though because I could see that happening with the clowns in esports these days.
2023-01-30 16:29
I wish there were more teams in T3 that would pick up the really good female players to compete in CCT for example. Nigma Galaxy played a few games in CCT finals if I'm correct, and while they didn't do great, they didn't do absolutely awful either. Imagine if Nexus had brought on Ana for example, they may be able to improve past the level they were at with Xellow if everything goes correctly. Same thing with Ogla and T2/T3 SA teams. Good thread btw :)
2023-01-30 16:38
There is no actual reason for splitting CS by sex, other than seeing girls play cs. There's no massive strength or athletic disadvantage being a female CS player.
2023-01-30 16:40
the dumbest part is hltv is so sexist theyll complain that the level of female cs is bad, but will also be against anyone investing resources into growing it to be better. Its clear they dont care about if its good or bad they just dont want women to have the opportunity cause theyre insecure that a woman is better then them..

I imagine any female making any REAL money off of CS are those who stream. They definitely won't be making comparative salaries to T-2 or T-1 CS pros. But, I think it's needed to grow the female scene in eSports in general. Invest in it now, grow the pool and get a more competitive pool to pick from.

She was severely lacking in several aspects of gameplay like crosshair placement, map awareness and straight up point-click aim. I'm really not trying to be rude, but she looked like a Gold Nova. Obviously she might have improved a lot since then, I have no idea. But I find it rather unlikely. Excited to watch the games tho

Ana is definetly good for a fe pro, but I played with her in a pug (Im 2.6k elo garbage player) and we had the same stats while some other fe pros she was queued with had even worse stats. This is ofc just 1 example but I've also scrimmed against some fe teams like Big equipa and beat them. To me it's quite clear that most fe pro teams in eu are at around a 3k elo skill level at best. My friend (3.3k elo) and his team destroyed astralis fe team in esea for example. So at the current point in time fe pros aren't even comparable to t3 males and a doubt a female only league will change this since they aren't competing against actual good opposition.

I think they are mostly like tier 4 or 5 level of male teams. I'm not even being sexist when I say that I doubt the best female team would beat the 500th best male team. I've played against female pro teams who play in that ESL league, and even as a random stack on faceit we beat them pretty easily, like 16-6 I believe. I'm not shitting on women, I think they do deserve their own league and should have a chance to play. But they shouldn't bet the same pay as better (male) teams. Same in any sport. Female tennis players and female MMA fighters are the only ones who seem to get equal pay, and to their credit it is because they make themselves marketable, negating their skill differential. WNBA players are atrocious and want the same pay, but they're not doing anything to better market themselves, how can they expect the same pay when they can't fill arenas.
2023-01-30 18:15
1 reply
In tennis they should not have the same pay because they can't sold tickets the same as males. We see it time and time again when there is a tournament without males it's like 20% capacity sold. I don't understand why they get the same pay ,they don't even play bo3 on majors. Males are fighting there for 3+ hours every game. It's just unfair as hell
2023-01-31 00:20
bibiahn couldn’t even make top 6 teams in aus (not hard) and u rlly think she could even play tier 3 lol.. u just have no clue what u r talking about
2023-01-30 18:50
I generally agree. I legit think bibiahn, ANa, and vilga (you could possibly throw a few more names in there) could be on T3-4 mixed gender teams. There's a bunch of social and economic factors as to why that's unlikely to happen though. They make some money in the women's circuit, so it's not economically viable for them to drop their salaries and try it. That said, they're absolutely clapping everyone in the women's circuit, so they probably don't have as much motivation to improve.

it's sexist to have a female only league. if women can't play with men they don't deserve to get paid for playing a video game. forget about sex for a second and realize that women are taking away org money from people who are better at the game then them just so that there can be a female league. that is not equality, that is privilege.

We're not and we were never equal....deal with it. I dont think that female teams would love to get destroyed over and over again by men team XD Sorry but there's a class difference
2023-01-31 10:01
I mean if lvl 6 is an average pro female player then I dont see an issue. Of course there will be players who stand out like in every sport. And we can't compare them to male players. It's the same in tennis. N1 female player would easily get rekt by a junior male player. Yes you can argue that there are physical disadvantages and in csgo there are not but for some reason girls are just not good enough to be even close to males.
