Only issue I had was that they didn't include the scene where Joel is hanging upside down from Bills trap. Was super intense in the game but I can see why it would be hard to adapt into the Live Action...

they omitted some main character interaction and skipped several potentially great scenes. imo they spent far too much time creating a false backstory that just simply wasn't there in the game. here's the actual letter Frank wrote to Bill in the game. the episode was completely different and the LBGT stuff was clearly forced in there. Well Bill, I doubt you'd ever find this note cause you were too scared to ever make it to this part of town. But if for some reason you did, I want you to know I hated your guts. I grew tired of this shitty town and of your set-in-your-ways attitude. I wanted more from life than this and you could never get that. And that stupid battery you kept moaning about -- I got it. But I guess you were right. Trying to leave this town will kill me. Still better than spending another day with you. Good luck, Frank

LMFAO so? At what point do you turn off the show and just YouTube the games cutscenes? It's an adaptation, not a 1-to-1 live action remake. Also what interactions are you talking about? The part where Ellie and Bill argue constantly? None of that served any purpose to the plot. Also the entire section was easily one of the most boring parts of the game. Your problem isn't that it is different to the source material, but it's clear that your problem is with them having a gay couple on screen for longer than 30 seconds. Straight couples are shown in sex scenes and kissing scenes or having ongoing relationships throughout entire shows, these guys did it for one episode and you're pressed XDDD

my problem is that it's different than the source material, by a decent margin, but also because it's clear as day that they forced the LBGT stuff in there to go along with the current times and to please the tiny 5-7% of people who are actually gay (but also aggressively vocal). it's the theme of the day. it's plainly obvious if you 1.) played the game, and 2.) read that letter that came directly from the original game writers

sure it's different, but it literally doesn't affect the story in any way whatsoever. The result is the same if they went down the Bill co-op route, or the altered backstory. Either way, Ellie and Joel get a car and the actual story continues. Even in the game it felt like a filler section. And most of it was boring af and way longer than it needed to be. Also Franks letter was just another useless part of the game, literally had 0 impact on the story. If you seriously care this much that it was changed, you should just watch a video of the game story because an adaptation shouldn't be 1-to-1 because at that point, where does it stop being an adaptation and start being a direct copy of the game. You can have a great adaptation without it being this way.

i disagree with about everything you said. not sure if you're just trying to push down what i said about the LGBT, or whatever else, but there are genuine things they skipped over that would have been a delight to see. this is a reoccurring theme with several modern movies and TV shows. i have no idea why people feel the need to force this level of inclusiveness into so many forms of media. we're talking about 5-7% of people (at least here in the US)..... that's like having a room of 100 people and 7 of them being so loud and vocal until they force something that's not at all applicable to the other 93. it feels forced, it feels fake, and it just doesn't make for good TV imo.

Loved the episode, usually i dont like forced LGBT propaganda but in this story it fits well and its far better than in game story . I missed firey exchanges between Ellie n Bill but all in all episode was great.

For me it felt forced and rushed cause it was put in 1 episode and i cant build a relation to a character in 1 episode. (MB other ppl can but not me) The story of those guys should either be told over at least 5 episodes, or not at all.
