yep. g2 had consistent playoffs all year and had a single bad tourney when they changed half the roster. did good at the tourney after the major and won the one after that. much better than any other team in recent terms. am i saying g2 deserved first for the entire 2022 year? absolutely not, but saying g2 doesnt deserve it temporarily after theyve been doing very well is just blind hatred

each event you brought up was right after roster changes and ignoring their multiple grand final appearances to suit your argument. have you looked at the other teams g2 is competing with and their results? heroic last place 3 tournies in a row, cologne, fall groups, and both esl pro leagues but you dont want to look at that because it doesnt fit your narrative of heroic deserving second

And who should be number 1? Heroic? The team who got dead last at both esl pro leagues and cologne? Outsiders is the only number 1 id accept besides g2 for recent results. Faze hasnt won anything since july so they definitely arent number 1 worthy, unless talking about the whole year then they are and thats only cause no other team won more than 1 tourney. Say what you want but at least g2 didnt get last at even a single tourney while heroic did at 4 of them.

Going out in group stage of EPL is going last mate and not qualifying for major is under going last in the major. And I don't care who's top 1, cause if we go by that, FaZe should easily be considered top 1 since every team wants to win against them more than anything else to show how good they are. But that's subjective to each person, I'm only answering to your comment about G2 being basically perfect the whole year tournament wise, when it isn't like that. In fact G2 had one of the worst results as a tier 1 team with: NiKo, m0nesy, and hunter.

4 trophies, 6 grand finals and playoffs in every other tournament other than rio.

it's more radical than HLTV which seemingly allows teams to climb easier
dropping looks like a lengthy process just like HLTV
so in a sense I prefer it over the HLTV rankings, I hope they become relevant for something more than just seeding
it's also good that prize money is taken into account so events like EPL gotta step it up to be relevant, and it could encourage more TOs to try and break the monopoly

I think it's the weirdest part. The level of competition is all you need. There's $30 mln dubai event this year for example. If they'd include CS, it would be a $3-$5 mln prize pool. Biggest ever. But nobody will take it seriously and participate solely to farm some money. We've been there with WESG before.

Don't get me wrong, I realise these results are shit. But they're still much better than all the results of other teams above them. Like... when did 1win, aurora, Havu, 9ine or ForZe get 1st place in RMRs or 3rd-4th place in blast? Those teams won more matches when we're talking about sheer numbers, I get it, but it was vs tier3 opposition, and NiP plays vs tier1 constantly.

Good thing you realised these results are trash cause:
At BLAST, they managed to beat NaVi with sdy and OG
And at the RMR they beat Astralis, BNE and Cloud9 (Cloud9 being the only impressive one)
So honestly i wouldnt call these events good for them.
And to the thing about the tier 2 teams. They play WAY more than NIP does and they constantly place either top 3 or bottom 3 in tier 2 events. So honestly with NIP constantly playing with a new team, having trash placements and not beating teams who are actually impressive (except C9) I would say they deserve to be below everyone else.
